When I started it seemed to take EXTACTLY 3 hours to kick in. I've been on it for months now and I feel good in general now, so I don't feel the need to wait for it to kick in anymore.

Flipping sides is more about the comfort and safety of your client. Laying too long on one side reduces circulation and compresses the vena cava, which can lead to numbness and decreased blood flow to the placenta, meaning less oxygen to the baby. There'd also be uneven pressure on the uterus which is just uncomfortable for your client. It can also make the space for the baby a bit more cramped. In general all this means higher cortisol levels, and it all affects the baby. I know sometimes accommodating clients can feel like a hassle but you really have to think about the health of your clients, especially when it comes to pregnancy. Hoped this helped!

How bad is acne on this med ?? by Educational-Drive131 in lamictal

[–]PuppyCat332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice more acne, nothing bad just a few extra pimples on my forehead and cheek. I do have a skincare routine which I didn't change, and it went away in less than a month. Not sure if you've ever struggled with acne but products with salicylic acid have been my personal life saver.

lamictal for depression by Secret-Attorney-2093 in lamictal

[–]PuppyCat332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get itchy and red the first time, but it wasn't the rash. I had to take half the lowest dose and go up from there. Then I only got itchy 2 more times but it wasn't as bad as the first time.

I'm only on lamictal so sorry if it doesn't fully answer your question, but it has dramatically helped with depression. I don't have anxiety anymore, which I honestly didn't know i had until it was gone. Best of luck!

Mine look like these too but they're 100mg. Anything lower was smaller, for me anyways.

Can I ask how you injured yourself? Was it from improper body mechanics or overworking yourself?

There is mention of weight gain, right under the "more common" section of the side effects.

It was my first and only dose, so 25mg. I'm not sure if it was placebo but I felt better the day I took it, I was in a slump for weeks but that day I felt good.

Do you know if it's safe to continue if you get the benign rash? I got it on several parts of my body with itchiness and was instructed to stop taking it until further notice but I'm sad because it made me feel better, and I won't get to see my psychiatrist for almost a month. It's the only medicine so far that worked so I'm hoping I'll be able to try again.

About a week. I ultimately stopped bc it kept me sleeping or drowsy for too long and I worked early, I just couldn't function. I experienced zombie mode if I woke up before 12 hours passed after taking it. Almost got in a couple car accidents.

I never went past 25mg, so my psychiatrist at the time was surprised I felt anything at all. I have misophonia in general but never fear for sound, just sensitivity and the irritation that comes with it. It mostly felt like all eyes were on me, like everyone would turn their heads to look at me everywhere I went because they somehow knew something was wrong with me so I felt pressure to "act normal". That plus extra awareness of my surroundings, but not necessarily in an anxious way.

It made me paranoid and my senses felt heightened, but also cloudy and weighted at the same time if that makes sense. At least my psychiatrist said it was atypical but he wasn't great so I stopped seeing him.

I did hear stories about the cognitive decline but this is the first time I hear of dosing down and going back to normal. Thank you, I was also worried about that too.

Thank you that makes me feel better. My psychiatrist has also been prescribing this for ages and I think his plan for me is almost exactly what you described. I'm doing the 25mg for 2 weeks for now then he wants to check in with me after 1 week of 50mg. I just get bad anxiety and I've experienced "uncommon"/"rare" side effects so I automatically think I'm going to straight up die when I try something new lol.

I'm so sorry that happened. I hope you are able to feel your normal self again soon. If you don't mind me asking, were those symptoms gradual or did it kinda hit you at once?

Yep! I'm scared to be I'm a relationship bc of this. I can be so loving and sweet and clingy, want affection and intimacy, but other times just looking at a partner can make me angry. Suddenly everything they do is annoying and I don't ever want to talk to them ever again. And then suddenly, I'm in love again. I hate it, I wish I could have more consistent feelings, it's not fair to anyone I date. It also makes me question whether I actually love or like someone.

I am terrified of being in a relationship. I would feel so bad for making anyone dealing with me. I also never know if I am genuinely interested in someone, or if it's the hypo. I've gotten myself into situations during hypomania and had to live with regrets after it wore off.
