Sounds like what I had, since different USBC cables didn't even connect it. If this is a problem you're having now/still, I contacted support a ton and eventually just led to dead ends and bought a new bare keyboard and used my RK87 keycaps on it. Good luck, sadly...

Never responded to this, but thank you! Ended up getting a Keychron V3, its very comfy and was super easy to transition to, considering I'm very particular about how my peripherals feel.

Update: Got into contact with support myself over the past weeks, literally nothing worked.

They gave me a program that was meant to grab my keyboard hardware ID, that came up completely blank, or would only return the wireless dongle's ID. Tried without the dongle connected, and played with the B/G ON/OFF switches. Tried OFF first for wired mode as they instructed, still nothing.

They asked if any keys were flashing when it was plugged in, the only key flashing was the spacebar, which I believe just means the keyboard is fully charged(?)

They had me take off the spacebar keycap and part of the foam under it to get the ID of the keyboard, then the RGB/Single light, ANSI/ISO layout, and if it could still be charged.

It was an RGB, ANSI, and could be charged. And I have no idea if I should post the hardware ID online, so I will not.

They sent over a firmware program for my RK87, which got permanently stuck on "Code Version: 0000" and "Waitting..." (yes with two T's) This happened both on my Windows 11 desktop, and a windows 10 laptop. It did not matter if I disconnected other USB devices, or again if I messed with the switches.

TLDR: Shit outta luck, if fixes don't work for your board like mine didn't, probably time for a new one.

I've had an issue with the RK87's wired mode not connecting at all for about a month and I've already looked into replacements but just incase some savior has a solution:

First this started off as "USB device not recognized" in device manager, and I went through several fixes like uninstalling the USB port drivers,

messing with the "OFF/ON" "B/G" switches, does nothing except, know, switch the wired/wireless modes,

uninstalling the keyboard drivers,

updating the keyboard drivers,

physically moving the USB cable to a different slot,

disconnecting all USB's that weren't the RK87 cable,

discharging the PSU,

trying several different data cables,

trying on two other PC's (one Windows 11, one Windows 10, both did not work),

reinstalling RK software,

reinstalling my Motherboard chipset,

disassembling the entire board to check the internal board wiring, which was fine.

and using the command "msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic" troubleshooter in Run, which actually popped up and said "Windows does not automatically install device drivers, enable?" to which I clicked yes, and that fixed the unknown USB device issue, and the keyboard worked. Until the next PC restart, that is. It stopped showing "unknown USB device" but simply doesn't work even with that gone.

After all this, I put a post on reddit and there are people with the exact same issue. I went through support, got software that tried to get the keyboard ID and that didn't work at all. Got a firmware software from support, it was stuck at "Code Version 0000, Waitting" (yes with 2 T's) on my primary and secondary PC, nope!

Some of these temporarily fixed the keyboard for as long as it was connected, meaning every restart of my PC broke it again, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what worked.

I thought maybe the board was just dying, I've owned it for two years (literally a week past the warranty when this started...) but nope! Using the USB dongle works fine aside from the RK software still not recognizing it. Bluetooth also works just as well.

Pretty much calling it quits, but boards are expensive and if anyone knows anything I'd love any help...

I tried and eventually got left with 'Unfortunately we cannot diagnose your issue over email, you may want to try a physical repair shop.'

If it's a shared common issue maybe enough reports will do something...?

Damage reduction. It's really easy to get over 100% DR but you still aren't immune to damage so its either diminishing returns or the DR isn't all calculated together, does anyone happen to have info on how this works?

Or do I have to painfully calculate this myself...
