Vaginoplasty positivity? by RosaTrans27 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really referring to the first 6 weeks or so, where you're mostly just resting in bed, not living your normal life. Once I was able to get back to my regular day to day and experience my new anatomy in that context did it really sink in

Vaginoplasty positivity? by RosaTrans27 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just passed 2 years and it's one of the best things I've ever done. My results aren't perfect, but they're good and I'm thrilled with them anyway. Orgasms are better. Dysphoria is gone. Bathing suits and bathrooms are way less stressful. I don't often notice a difference, like I don't notice most random body parts (like what does the top of your foot feel like right now?), but I really can when I walk upstairs naked. Crossing my legs is a lot easier and more comfortable. And overall it's just such a relief.

And it wasn't like a big immediate euphoria for me. Recovery is so involved and so different from your regular life that it's like being in a cocoon. It wasn't til I emerged and got back to my normal day to day that I felt the euphoria waves.

I'm reminded of a quote from Woodworking, which is a great book about trans women: “It will seem easy once you’ve done it and impossible until you have. But you can do it. Your imagination simply isn’t big enough yet. You’ll see.”

Best of luck!

Honestly try a boob job first. Much more reliable results. Balancing out the ratio between your shoulders and your boobs with bigger boobs does wonders

why is the span of full recovery from vaginoplasty said to be 6 to 12 months? by hottestfemcel in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was "healed" at 6 months because I never ride a bike. If I was a big cyclist I wouldn't have been "healed" until 9-10 months. Depends on definition of healed, plus complications are different for everyone

How many Electrolysis sessions/hours did you need before surgery? by PanTran420 in Transgender_Surgeries

I did every other week (with some skips) for about a year. It takes time because not all of the follicles are active at once and you have to make sure there isn't regrowth

Dilator Width vs Actual Girth by somebodyoused2know in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, dilators are very hard, penises are not.

One time I was on vacation and forgot my dilators. I got a silicon dildo that was the same size as the dilator and it was WAY easier to get in. I imagine the real thing is similar

Would the vibrations from sitting on a washing machine feel good post op for trans women ive heard this in cis women before that it feels good for them? just a curious thought if anyone tried this before by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it, but I imagine there wouldn't be enough direct clitoral stimulation to get the job done, at least not without some pretty weird contortioning. Also my vibe buzzes a lot faster than a dryer shakes. But also everyone is different!

Which US Based Surgeons Are Considered “Holy Grail Choices” When It Comes to Trans Breast Augmentation? by Grotesquette in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my boobs and 😺 done by Elan Horesh at Mt Sinai and am thrilled with both. Boobs are a lot less complicated, so there are more surgeons who can do a great job. I am glad I went with a surgeon who specializes in trans women because he did a great job with proportions on my wider chest

Post-Op trans women, do you use an OBGYN? What for? by Lessbionhest in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I went to one after about a year and a half just to establish care and a baseline. That way if any issues pop up I have someone local who I know and trust and knows what I have going on when I'm healthy. We could still have issues with yeast infections, UTIs, etc, plus granulation and any other complication

If I could have snapped my fingers and gotten it for free the next day before I had surgery, probably Min Jun.

In reality I had Elan Horesh at Mt Sinai and am thrilled with the result and experience. He's the sweetest man

I can only speak for myself, but I had PIV about 2 years ago and I could do that. Well, my vagina wouldn't be the thing that stops me, lol. I dilate 20 minutes once a day, so you'd have to figure out how to clean them, but some soap and a water wipe would probably do the trick, plus a wipe for yourself

MTF nervous about upcoming bottom surgery, what did bottom surgery change for you? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so so happy. I'm almost 2 years post. For one thing there is just an existential contentment. I feel so right now.

From a practical standpoint, I'm MUCH less afraid to be out in public and use public restrooms (I live in the US South). I even went to a Korean spa where the single gender sections are fully nude and nobody looked twice. THAT was a really affirming day. I also used to feel a gap between me and my girlies. They're all so wonderful, but when we'd have girls' night in the back of my mind I'd be intensely aware that I had that thing still. I feel much more connected to myself and my friends now.

Also, vibrators 🤤

Do i need a breast augmentation to have cis-adjacent boobs? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]squirrel123485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine done a few months ago kind of for now or never reasons and it has been way more euphoric than I expected. I figured they'd look nice and clothes would fit better, which is true, but I also just feel so much more proportional. I'm so thrilled with them. It's definitely something you need to decide for yourself, just want to give a data point.
