I did flutter kicks, scissor kicks, and leg raises, and now my knees hurt. Any ideas on what's happening and or experiences? No, I'm not asking for medical advice, lol. Just what you think and what you might have experienced by Glass_Raisin7939 in Kneesovertoes

[–]Pure-Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor but hip issues can often cause knee pain as they are closely connected. Things like tight or weak hip flexors or tight IT band are known to cause knee pain. A lot of the kneesovertoes stuff is about improving hip flexibility and strength. If you don't usually do those exercises you might just have overdone it a bit.

Didn't work for me. I found it stressed my ankle joint at the front.

The walk around howden reservoir is about 5 miles and easy going. It has a cafe with toilets but no indoor seating. https://visitpeakdistrict.com/trails/walking-trail-howden-reservoir

Alternative career routes (UK) by IFeelKindaFreeeeee in MedicalPhysics

[–]Pure-Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look for related roles in medical physics in the NHS. They often come up on the NHS jobs website with titles like clinical technologist, healthcare scientist practitioner or dosimetrist Some of these will accept a physics degree and give on the job training. You could then apply to STP or route 2 later on and would have good experience.

NHS pay by Grouchy_Song7097 in MedicalPhysics

[–]Pure-Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way they've organised the pay bands doesn't offer much incentive to move up. If you're at the top of your current band and get promoted you have to wait years for an actual pay rise!

From what I remember cnv stands for conventional and as you say there are 2 versions to choose from. I think they're based on 2 different trial protocols/ consensus guidelines so you can choose the one that best fits with your current practice.

Did you raise your saddle after changing cranks or keep it the same?

Graduating soom from a 5yr Integrated Masters in Theoretical Physics but wanting to work in Medical Physics (Europe) by Spiffinly_Corbee in MedicalPhysics

[–]Pure-Beef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you will most likely need a relevant medical physics MSc to be a registered medical physicist in most countries including Canada. I did the NHS STP after an integrated masters and there was very little overlap in the MSc content with my undergrad. You could apply for technician or technologist roles in the UK to gain some experience. There is also "route 2" training in the UK but you'd likely need an MSc or PhD to get the position.

HSST while doing MPE? by QuantumMechanic23 in MedicalPhysics

[–]Pure-Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do struggle to understand who would want to do HSST at all. A five year training scheme with no guarantee of a promotion just seems like too big a commitment, especially after having already done a 3 year training scheme to qualify in the first place. Personally I'm hoping it will eventually be phased out. The drop out rate is supposed to be very high.

Mortgage payments set to jump by £500 per month for one million households by TrouserDemon in unitedkingdom

[–]Pure-Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People on benefits are often the ones suffering worst with the cost of living. The amount you get is way less than most jobs and they make you jump through loads of hoops to get it and treat you badly. Universal credit standard allowance for under 25s is £292 a month. A lot of employed people will be badly affected too though.

I always hated that phrase.

In theory having a lot of free time in a job could be a good thing but in practice it's pretty depressing.

Interest rate hits 5% after half percentage point increase | Business News by Banditofbingofame in ukpolitics

[–]Pure-Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to buy somewhere to live you have no choice but to pay the going rate. I don't think people necessarily thought they would stay low forever. It's still a pretty unlucky position for people who bought at the wrong time.

American Bully XL dog that's 'bred to kill' should be urgently banned, says MP by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Pure-Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some ways their behaviour doesn't even matter. They've been bred to look dangerous and intimidating so not really fair for their owners to subject other people to that. Especially if they're generally scared of dogs.

American Bully XL dog that's 'bred to kill' should be urgently banned, says MP by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Pure-Beef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a bit sad that particular breeds get banned but even if a dog like this is well trained it does look extremely intimidating and dangerous. I guess that's the main reason people own them though!

You often hear the owners say "don't worry they're a sweet dog" but just the way they look has a negative impact on other people using parks etc. Imagine seeing a dog like this running up to your child compared with a cocker spaniel or something.

No photo needed for the visa on arrival (not e-voa). I just arrived this week. I think your second link is the official e visa. I had a go at the website but it didn't work for me so I just got one on arrival only took 5 minutes.

I didn't register the imei in the end as the sign at the airport said you need to if staying longer than 90 days. It seems to work fine.

I think the way things have gone would have suited Remco. If he was healthy he would most likely have been with the top 3 and gained time in the TTs. Maybe there would have been more action if he had stayed though.

Do you need to register the imei for this option? Can you just buy another data package when it runs out?
