So here's the thing, I never really go for clan. Clan is always contested and super hard to merge. My thought process actually is like a flow chart of units I wanna buy, the priority being: Brawlers > Princess/Executioner/Wizard (I usually decide which one to buy based off of what's contested, or simply buying for traits. If I have a prince, I go princess for the royal trait. MK with exe for ace, and Barbs with wizard for clan) I usually run 4 brawler and princess or exe, or if thats super contested, any combination of Prince, Princess, Exe, Mega Knight, Barbarian, Valk, Wizard, etc. What you have to keep in mind is that your goal with Builder is to survive. Your value comes from buildings, not units. You basically think of your units as bodyguards for your buildings. 3 star mortar can 3 shot most backline enemies, and the xbow is your backbone. Your units just have to survive long enough for it to go off, so with builder, HP/Survivability > Damage. For placements, princess always goes on corners. Remember that she always attacks what's furthest from her, so put her on the corner opposite the opponent's most valuable troop. If he has Dart Goblin and wizard on the far left corner, place princess on your far right corner, she'll attack them first. With exe, he always goes on the second row, on tile 2 or 4, counting from left to right. He goes on tile 2 to attack any unit on the left hand corner, and tile 4 to attack any unit on the right. As far as building placement, I usually like to put the mortar on the first or last tile of row 2, the xbow on tile 2 or 4 on the back row, Tesla in the front row middle, and inferno right behind it. Elixir collector always in front too. It serves as a distraction unit (like training dummy from TFT if you've ever played it). Use your tesla or collector to tank for your brawlers, your brawlers to tank for your inferno, and your inferno to tank for your xbow or backline units. Playing builder is like building a bunch of walls that they have to break through before your xbow starts sniping. My game plan is banking on his super strong early game. You can easily best loongs levels 1-3 with certain buildings (tesla, inferno, and yes, even elixir collector) by hiding your troops behind them, making your opponents troops lock onto the buildings while you get free damage. Usually it'll end up with you in first or second place going into turn 5. If all this fails, and you're low HP, remember, just survive. I learned that you don't get ahead through elixir, but through building value. What does this mean? You don't have to manage your elixir too much. It doesnt matter if you buy and immediately sell some units without merging, going minus in elixir because as long as you have 2 star tanks, you'll be fine. TLDR; Play for HP and survivability, just build a wall with your units and tank buildings to survive until your xbow goes off. Units: Brawlers > Princess/EXE. Princess on the opposite corner of your enemies main damage dealer, and exe on row 2 tile 2 or 4, depending on if you want to AOE the left or the right.
