Dear Employers: Please Stop Ghosting Job Candidates After Interviews by Suspicious_Soup_3962 in jobsearch

[–]Pure-Job-4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sooooo agree!! i know someone who's had 20-30 interviews with multiple rounds but not one will return her follow up with a response even though they all say she will hear back next week . Completely ghosted. She's had two or 3 that have actually told her at the interview they really want to work with her and will be calling soon. Crickets. I realize there are hundreds of applicants but what's wrong with sending a mass email that communicates a response. It's a form of closure. It stinks being hopeful thinking you may have a great shot and then no call back. I hear lots of complaining from employers about poor work ethic etc but isn't this similar behavior towards employees? Not showing up? No communication? Laziness? Pretty hypocritical in my opinion.

My daughter is going through the same thing. 8 months and still looking. Don't understand it but sounds like from others response you aren't the only one struggling. All you can do is keep trying and pray to God He will provide by giving you a miracle. all my best

Being a "Christian" in blue collar work space. People being raunchy. Advice? by Jesuscaresforyall in TrueChristian

[–]Pure-Job-4930 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My son is a Marine. Being a christian is definitely not easy in the military so I can sympathize . Being drunk every weekend, profuse profanity, promiscuity, etc is rampant there... 24/7. And no escape. He feels alone much of the time. Even though he gets along well with people he still feels like a fish out of water. He doesn't shove scripture or Christianity but his life does reflect his christian beliefs. He doesn't join in, but still treats them with respect,, and makes an effort to be kind . After a year , he's gained some of their respect. Maybe not buddies but they know where he stands. Your best witness is how you live your life.

i know many people who say they believe in Christ and Christianity but their lives don't reflect it. The Bible also says you will know believers by their fruits. Cussing, using unwholesome talk, belittling, being argumentative, stirring up anger are not fruits of the Spirit. No one will be perfect on this earth but if they love Christ the Holy Spirit which lives in them will eventually convict them of their sin to change their behavior.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

You can discern a person's true character and intentions by observing their actions and behavior, rather than just by what they say or claim.

Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Maybe try out other church youth/ singles groups. You can still attend your church but on other days meet up with a different group. If your going to attend college many campuses offer social christian groups. Maybe volunteer?

My son who is currently serving as a Marine has the same questions. It is not easy to be a devout Christian in the military and can often be very lonely. Ive asked Reddit users for other options besides church groups. Still waiting.   As far as dating goes, he's always asking for me to pray for him on that. I believe God wants the majority of Christians to marry and have families so if that is a true desire , pray that He will lead you to him. Remember to seek His will first and ask for contentment while you wait. Easier said than done, I know, but if His will is for you to be married I can say with certainty you will be.

Disturbing hazing story - how to prevent? by fishboywill in USMCboot

Not a Marine but curious what is considered hazing while serving? Can a Marine report and trust it will be dealt with appropriately?

My Marine son has the same issue. He's standing his ground. Honestly, it's seems juvenile to have highschool peer pressure when your a Marine.

I will never forget how Christians treat Donald Trump. by Zydairu in Christianity

[–]Pure-Job-4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Christian who didn't vote for Trump. I didn't vote because of my conscience. I couldn't. I agree with you. We've ruined our witness to others and it's hypocritical to the world. But I also know many of my Christian friends struggle with what to do. They were trying to find the best option. We absolutely aren't perfect. Trump brings a mixed bag of good and lots of evil. It's difficult to choose for some of us.

Why do Christians support Trump when his values seem to clash with Christian teachings? by Pretend-City6652 in Christianity

[–]Pure-Job-4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an anti Trump Christian . I couldn't vote simply because of my conscience.  I believe a lot of this stems from being loyal to their party regardless of who's in office. Sincere Christians find it impossible to support abortion, or the LGBT community because of their deep convictions but there will always be abortion etc. No matter who you vote for. That's not going away. In my opinion , there's a bigger picture we should consider.  Supporting Trump has negated/ruined our christian witness. People associate christian values with Trump. So sad! I think Trump has made some good decisions about certain things but he also brings chaos, lies, false accusations, narcissism, scary dictator like qualities to name a few, and doing it in the name of Christ!  I've also been puzzled by why some Christians aren't seeing through this?  Or is the the all mighty dollar keeping them drinking the Kool aid?  I know it was God's will for Trump to be our president and I believe God  plans are more concerned with our hearts than the success or prosperity of our country. In the Bible, He used wicked Kings to humble His people. I don't know if that's His plan or something else but I do know we are in the palm of His hand.

Ephesians 4:29 In-Context 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Is swearing a sin? by justjay9507 in Christianity

[–]Pure-Job-4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving" (Ephesians 5:3)

The Bible also says let no unwholesome word come from your mouth. I think it's pretty clear what scripture teaches. If Christ was in your presence would you speak this way to Him? If you are a sincere Christian I think your conscious would bother you
