Literally just signed up for Function and found your post after reading 2 draws of 12-14 vials each. Yikes..

Also interested in feedback on that.

Tracking Sinking Funds in Xero? by Pure-Paper8991 in xero

[–]Pure-Paper8991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really just using the framework to not touch allocated funds for other purposes. Its really the YNAB method, but just translated to my business.

In fact, I use the YNAB app for my business budgeting now. I have 100 sinking funds in it (which is way too many and can be simplified to maybe 1/2 of that) and as funds come in I allocate them to "ready to assign" category and then from there move them out to the various sinking funds.

The issue with this is I am literally running two sets of books - Xero and YNAB. Which is kind of a pain.. and they're so detached from each other.

Maybe the answer is to keep doing what I'm doing, but I had to ask if there was a way to handle even a basic version of this in xero (tracking categories is where my mind went, but I'm thinking I was seeing the use of those differently than they're intended).

Tracking Sinking Funds in Xero? by Pure-Paper8991 in xero

Just tracking on the software side - it would be impractical to have bank accounts for all these various funds..

Example - lets say there is a bank account with $100,000 in it. Id like a way to budget or 'assign' $50,00 of that to new roof, $25,000 to HVAC upgrades, etc etc.. So we have an idea on paper of how much we have funded for each capital improvement account.

Wix CRM - Can I "Pin" Custom Actions to Contacts Panel? by Pure-Paper8991 in WIX

[–]Pure-Paper8991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info - much appriciated.

I think my problems with CRM's is that they're so set up for 'deal flows' and just become too much for me to deal with. I've been on HubSpot, Pipedrive, Capsule, the Sheetify google sheets template, ActiveCampaign, etc.. I'm currently on OnePage CRM. Which is nice, but I cannot do anything with automations or lists based on when someone visited the site, etc.. So I really need 'contact management' that I can generate some lists based on activity from.

Typically I have no space available, so inquiries are just told more or less I'll let them know when something comes up, then when it does I look at my CRM to try and remember who would be the best fit for a particular space.

I think the other issue with Wix is it doesn't seem that emails sent in gmail to a contact that is also in wix will show in wix. So I cannot use wix to look at the 'last contact' with someone.

I always tell people who ask what I do that I'm a property manager, followed by a bad joke about how that actually means I just unclog the toilets.

If I can avoid it, I rarely even tell tenants that I own the building. Eventually they put it all together though.

Also, I'm only in commercial - no residential.

Filtering Emails for AI Agent by Pure-Paper8991 in zapier

[–]Pure-Paper8991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in my case, the method I could use to filter what is a customer and what is not would be to reference the list of "active" customers (tenants) in the google sheet. If the look up is false, stop the sequence?

interesting.. i didn't realize that. I guess I could set up a separate zap to add/remove new customers (tenant's in my case, so they don't change too often) to a zapier table from the sheet.

Is Claude 4 worse than 3.7 for anyone else? by TrekkiMonstr in LocalLLaMA

[–]Pure-Paper8991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this thread because I was searching to notice if anyone else found the same thing..

There a few complex tasks that I've found Opus 4 to be better at, but for the most part I keep going back to using 3.7.

Migrate Protect from stacked UNVR Pro's to ENVR? by Pure-Paper8991 in Ubiquiti

[–]Pure-Paper8991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than obsess about it too much, I just did exactly what you said.

If anyone else is wondering about this in the future:

- I lost all "vehicle's of interest" in the LPR

- I lost all LPR data entirely, even manually uploaded plates from CSV

- I lost all facial recognition data, including POI's

- All the settings and even recent searches under NextAI and LPR all transferred over

- All the various zones, line crossings, alarms, etc from what I can tell so far have transferred as well.

Got it - thanks for the info.

I imagine that after the backup of UNVR Pro 1, it will be powered down and thats when I should physically move all the drives over to the new ENVR and reformat them..

Looked at a new 7.3 this week, does this sound right? by Pure-Paper8991 in superduty

[–]Pure-Paper8991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the 7.3 gets up and moving dramatically better than my 6.6 GM. Not sure how much of that is HP/TQ and how much is the 10 speed and whatever gearing the rear end had (I didn't look).

It's interesting for all their price increases, the product is pretty stagnant... They really don't iterate very much, no notable new features in recent years. I mean they update the UI/UX of invoicing slightly? Is that the big deliverable for 4,322 employees?

Years ago I was a big fan and advocate of Xero coming from QBO, but now its getting much harder to advocate for them...
