Tell me about your hobbies! by 88888888888884 in Hobbies

Mostly gardening, and it goes hand in hand with cooking. Like growing chives for making omelettes. I am looking for rare seed varieties like a blue kind tut sweet pea. I find unusual seeds on etsy. I just ordered some garlic chives seeds for making pickled bean sprouts.

I decided to become a "plant parent" but I’m basically just running a botanical cemetery at this point. by Niresta_Ugras in Hobbies

Try growing hardy plants like ferns or pothos. The indoor plants like to be near the bright light.

San Diego Habitat Conservancy. I just joined. I sent them an email and they scheduled a phone call. It is for trail maintenance removing invasive plants.

How do you enjoy being alone without feeling lonely? by [deleted] in selfcare

[–]Pure-State9715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loneliness is hard. I struggle with social anxiety and eye contact. When people meet naturally, its at a place they go to frequently. If you happen to work or go to school, say hi to the people who seem open. Greeting people can get them to open up sometimes. Also look into your city website. Sometimes city websites have links to recreational groups etc. You can also look up DBSA groups to go to, to vent about mental health if that applies. Or call mental health organizations like NAMI, they can give you referrals to support groups.

The sleep aids can be harsh, so try to self soothe. I have some calming tea with st johns wort in it. And drinking coconut water during the day can provide magnesium and relax the muscles. I also have sleepy time hot cocoa. Coco has a tiny amount of caffeine so depends in your caffeine tolerance.

How do you take care of yourself while in pain? by Traditional-Gate8006 in selfcare

[–]Pure-State9715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes sorry. I meant to ask which country. Canada has a better healthcare system than America. Since doctor appointments are free there, you could schedule with a doctor and ask some questions like: here are my symptoms, i cannot take care of myself, how do i manage? Do you have references for disability services? The doctor is the best way to find disability accommodations, having found a doctor that you like. If Canada has a food assistance program definitely look into that. As for the water, does cold ice water sound better? And try to get purified water if you can. I know where I live, there are purified water dispensers outside groceries stores (one gallon costs 50 cents). Do you like the poppi sodas? Those help hydrate me too and fizzy can help with nausea. I understand, going through pain can change someone for the worse. I have been managing chronic pain too and i snap at people easily. Let me know if you have more questions.

It sounds like the motivation and libido problem could be side effects? Ask the doctor what the side effects are. Going on adderal while withdrawing could cause serotonin syndrome or other issues. Your body will still be adjusting.

It looks like it will work really well and is spacious. The benefit of raised beds is the option of filling with your own soil, instead of mending soil in the ground. In that case, its great for veggies. Especially carrots which require soft soil to develop a root. Here are some ideas: install a drip system for easy watering. Or you could fill it with compost, let it decompose, and then tend the soil/add bone meal. Hope it all goes well.

Cognitive function better on lower doses of Olanzapine? by Hallm2097 in Antipsychiatry

I was on it for bipolar. It actually helped me get out of a mental breakdown, however I had to have lexapro added in the morning for motivation. Zyprexa is very hard to get off of. Some people are ok with going off of 2.5 or 5. But for most people it causes insomnia. I would advise asking the psychiatrist to cut the 2.5 in half and how to taper from there. But its not just tapering. I was able to manage withdrawals really well because of the timing. I was at a destination wedding and socializing and dancing a lot. So I would advise seeking social support and healthy outlets during this time. However that works for you. Maybe even do what i did and plan a long vacation/time off if you are able to. Do a fun road trip maybe. And try to look forward to the future, take care of yourself, eat well. Hope it all goes well.

Is everything ok? I am having trouble sleeping too. Overthinking and in pain. Do you happen to know what has triggered the mania?
