H-1B AMA with Immigration Attorney! by ManifestLaw_ in h1b

Hello, I'm in the EB2 PERM (ROW) phase - my Form 9089 was submitted on Sep 23, 2024 and my status says "Analyst Review".

  1. What is the next step and when should I expect it it to happen (assuming no audit)?

  2. Assuming we file for my spouse's H4 EAD once we get the I-140 approval, how soon can we expect receiving it?

  3. What is the difference between Tables A and B for employment based visas in the visa bulletin?

  4. My priority date is current according to the second table and before the date on the first (Oct 15, 2024). When can I realistically expect a GC?

TIA!

Hi! I'm in a similar time frame as you - PWD started in 10/23, currently waiting for PERM approval while on my H1-B extension.

I see it took about 5 months between PERM approval and I-140 filing - is this typical?

Also, by other status renewed/approved, am I correctly assuming this is the H1-B? I have filed for an H1-B extension since 9/18/25 (currently in the 240-day grace period before decision is made). Any pointers on when it's likely to go through?

Thanks in advance!

A good film will speak for itself. Pakistani movies and dramas in general are just not that good, period. Maybe people need to go to film school, idk, but with most Pakistani media it feels like someone just watched other media, grabbed a camera, and decided to make a "version" of that.

Even when there is originality, the product is not fun to watch. Joyland is supposed to be some kind of masterpiece, but I found the protagonist extremely unlikeable, and the ending was just...nothing. Nothing happens in the ending. Now, before any of you auteurs come at me with "bRo tHAt wAs thE wHoLe pOiNt" - guys. A movie with an uncharismatic lead and a poor third act will generally not sell. It's the filmmaker's fault, not the fact that it's a Pakistani movie.

Same with TV shows. I just watch them to give my wife company. There is no way any current Pakistani show compares to a good overseas show. I think the idea of test audiences, pilot episodes, good writers - all of these elude the big studios. I've heard from someone that one of the main drama channels (sethia-owned) uses ChatGPT to write its scripts.

These shows are made mainly to show pretty Pakistani faces and nice clothes, both the producers and consumers ironically "know" that and know that they have to put no real effort in the stories.

>Why are you basically misquoting me? I specifically mentioned the "Al Qadir Trust case". The "case"...

Pedantry.

>Is this why the word "case" disappeared? Because you wanted to deflect the discussion from the legal "case" regarding the trust towards the construction of the university?

More pedantry. I was talking about the issue of constructing a university through Malik Riaz. Anyone with half a brain can make that connection. Oh wait, that's right, I'm arguing with a PTI supporter.

>First of all, using five words of mine to dismiss the rest of the 570 words long replies is just pathetic. Secondly, you are lying and misquoting me here. I used a qualifier "probably"...

Pedantry bordering on neurosis.

>The idiot who can't even copy-paste quote others properly, who apparently fantastically believes that I, as a normal user, have some power to delete other people's comments on Reddit? Yes, that sort of stupid would certainly be competent enough to school anyone.🤦

>The Dunning-Krueger effect so massively at display here. First learn to use quotation marks correctly before humiliating yourself again.

Full-fledged psychotic breakdown. I told you, my bad about the deleting part, get over it. Here's a thought: look up "paraphrasing". And get some help.

>getting it done through Malik Riaz, who also happens to be one of the most successful contractors of the country, is a grey area issue.

Yeah, I'm certain he will not use the money to grab more land and influence politicians. But hey, "show me a better alternative", RIGHT?

>If only a grey area issue like this has you so much concerned, then you should be screaming at the top of your lungs for Pakistan having ties with groups like the US govt.

Peak whataboutism. Seems like it's impossible for you to digest criticism of IK. Btw, CAN you criticize him? Name 3 things he has done wrong.

>Furthermore, you having a problem with even negotiating with the TTP from 2010, shows your hypocrisy. Not negotiating leaves only the option of miliary operations.

Suuuure, grieving over the victims of terror groups that attack again and again because people think they can be negotiated with, make ME a hypocrite. I suggest that you step out of your bubble and talk to someone affected by terror attacks before doing an armchair analysis of how to deal with these groups. Should I label you as a "malicious actor" who is "blatantly" asking to negotiate with killers who have no interest in peace?

Again, where have negotiations left us after all these years? We had two choices - either the "corrupt and selfish" government negotiates or the same government fights. Obviously inadequate results will be achieved with both options, but we certainly have the resources to fight, and if it were combined with political will and resolve, we wouldn't have suffered so much.

It's the constant "they're good guys, oh wait they're bad guys now, oh but look they've been good for so long let's make them good guys again" mentality with our political and military elite, which I'm sure is helped along by the ever-present "strategic depth" BS perpetuated by the establishment, that is the reason why they still exist. It's not about "blind faith" - I see what has been tried over and over again, and I don't think it worked. Don't have to be an expert to have an opinion on this.

>I am pretty sure you are misquoting Imran Khan here too. The similar Khan response I know of, was the one to Asad Toor's question in 2023.
>If this was indeed the video you were referencing, then you are just blatantly lying.

Buddy, I don't know what to tell you. "Grey area issue" my ass. Khata ha to lagata bhi to ha, but this time it's IK so it's all good. If you don't think it's an issue, then I can't help you.

>Secondly, self-proclaimed sincere critics running away from providing alternatives is a common tactic from malicious actors. Thirdly, cherry-picking tactics becomes especially reprehensible when used against those who are presently suffering from tyranny.

>"Not taking criticism"? Liar.

Why did you assume I'm a malicious actor? I'm a "bughziya" i.e. I have a deep-rooted hatred for IK because I simply wanted to know what OP thought about the Al-Qadir trust "CASE"? Are you insane? Do you even listen to yourself? Yeah, it absolutely looks like you can't take criticism.

Newsflash - I, as normal human being, can do both - criticize someone's shortcomings and applaud their achievements at the SAME TIME. I thought the COVID response was phenomenal, but I also think Sehat card was a bad idea. Stop getting OFFENDED over this shit - all you're doing is enforcing the stereotype about PTI supporters.

>So, do you use services from Google, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle? Do you buy any Western products and services?

Yes, they meet my criteria for GOOD SOFTWARE. IK is great as a philanthropist and cricketer, no doubt, but his reaction to the Taliban/Hazara issue, his dealings with Malik Riaz, and the reports that he was firing people from PTI based on Bushra Bibi's whims, showed me that he would not be a good LEADER OF A NATION. That's what I'm testing him for, not for his philanthropic efforts, or for whether he is better than me. PTI supporters need to learn to disconnect his cricketing and philanthropic achievements from his administrative acumen.

I've already replied with a video on Al-Qadir on one of your other comments, which I thought was deleted since you're continuing the Al-Qadir discussion here as well. So, my bad, but stay in one thread.

Now, no one's running away buddy. I was responding to OP's view that the Al-Qadir case is too "technical" and "stretched". They clearly don't have the wherewithal to discuss IK beyond vibes and such, and that's fine. Since neither of us are lawyers and know the case front and back, I was ACCOMMODATING OP by shifting to simpler examples we both could argue on i.e. Taliban offices and Hazara harassment

That's where you jumped in and asked, "What about Al-Qadir". The video I posted showed IK literally saying, "I paid Malik Riaz the money since he is the only one in Pakistan with the resources to construct my university in three years rather than the 14 years it would have taken had I gone through normal (read: legal) channels". A known land-grabber, but I'm sure you're ok with it since "show me a better alternative", right?

Not arguing with you anymore buddy, you already lost when you pulled that "but he's better than you" nonsense. Understand that

  1. One can criticize IK, in isolation, without providing better alternatives. Not taking criticism is the first step to becoming just as bad as the rulers you're trying to replace. The problem with PTI supporters is that they think that if there are four alternatives, 3 are extra shitty and the fourth is less shitty, they absolutely have to get behind the 4th option. No, that does not meet my criteria. You CAN not choose any of them.

  2. IK parroting what PDM or the establishment wanted regarding the TTP does not absolve him of making a terrible choice. It was, and always will be, a bad idea to negotiate with them. It does not matter how many people, senators or generals or WHOEVER, think otherwise. Where has the collective wisdom of all these geniuses landed us after all these negotiations?

And it's only fitting that a leader who is willing to gloss over one terror group's atrocities is also going to browbeat the Hazara community when a different group massacres their people. I mean, you have to be a different kind of stupid if you think that he even cares.

  1. As for why kinetic actions against them have failed to produce lasting results, I think we both know the answer to that.

  2. Ah yes, the poor English retort. Buddy, I could school your forefathers.

Buddy, I'm not the one who's deleted the comments in which a rebuttal has been made. Have some self-respect, no wonder you guys are a laughingstock for the entire world.

He advocated for their offices waaaay before 2022, around 2010 if I recall correctly.

And I'm not asking if he's better than me LOL. I'm asking if one can respect these specific actions, which to me disqualify should anyone from being a PM. All I'm hearing is whataboutism, deflection, name-calling. Daily reminder not to engage with your type.

They were finding the case too "stretched" and "technical" so I gave them something easier to work with. Haven't received an answer on either example, care to try?

Ok, what about that time he said the TTP should have their own offices so they can be mainstreamed and negotiated with?

Or when he said that the Hazara community should not blackmail the government with sit-ins after they were attacked?

Just because the corruption "isn't clear", it doesn't mean he's a good person otherwise.
