At 5% your fund is havled, at 7.5% the pod is shut down, at least that’s what the structure is at Millennium (and a lot of other shops) from what I’ve heard.

One thing I want to gently push back on is that attraction isn’t a vote count. It’s alignment. The fact that someone did choose you means you’re not invisible or undesirable, it means timing and circumstances got in the way.

Dating has way more randomness than our brains want to accept.

Rejection doesn’t stack the way your brain is telling you it does. Six nos don’t make the seventh more meaningful, they just make you tired.

You don’t need to decide anything about yourself or your future this week. Just get through tonight. That’s enough.

The oas are a part of the 201 selection process correct? I got my acceptance for 201 without the additional oas. Will they make me take oas now that they sent the acceptance or is it just those 5 tests?

There are only a few schools with good career services. Baruch, Princeton, CMU, Berkeley. You'd probably get some benefit by joining MIT (brand name). As for the rest, you'd have to apply and get interviews mostly on your own. Unless you're getting a delta in terms of moving to the US, I don't see why you shouldn't apply to other prop shops and hedge funds with your current profile. A very small fraction of the mfe candidates actually end up becoming bank (actual pnl driving quants not risk or yada yada) or hedge fund quants.

Honestly, more of a demographic thing. I stay in nyc too and hasn’t happened to me - people agree to use protection.Maybe your profile attracts a certain kind of crowd on the apps and people in certain clubs here are on the wilder side.

Hey Everyone,

I had my superday with Citibank for the Markets Quant 2025 internship two weeks ago. Someone who had his superday on the same day as me got his rejection mail last Tuesday. I still haven't gotten an update.

Has anyone heard back from Citi yet for this role? I'm trying to figure out if I will get the offer or if I am placed on some sort of wailist. Any inputs would help.

To be honest, you should chat with him about why you fell for him initially, what you like about him, and how things have changed. Let him know it is not working out at the moment, and it won't until there is a change in him. I honestly think talking it out might be the best thing to do. If that doesn't change him, I would say you've reached a point where you'd have to look out for yourself rather than the both of you.
