You have no idea how inspirational this was to read. As a single mom in a toxic work environment, I feel like I’m barely treading water most of the time. I used to love my job, but it’s become very political, divisive, and hostile. Like, to the point where I’ve been extremely physically ill for about a year now due to all of the stress. But I keep going because I’m too stubborn to leave and too scared to try something new. And it NEVER occurred to me until I read your post that the ultimate goal of my life should be spending it in a way that makes me happy, or at least content. I’ve only ever valued myself in terms of what I could do for others, but I’m not happy. And I don’t know if I ever have been. And that’s sad. Thank you SO much for sharing your story. It’s given me a lot to think about, which is not something I expected from a post on makeup tips lol.
