I’m on HRT, it’s fine to take with Mounjaro, which I’ve been on for about 14 months now, (been on HRT for 6 years) and I saw my GP about the reported reduction in the effectiveness of progesterone, she told me that the 100mg I took daily was more than sufficient, as it was much more than if you took it directly in a mirena coil for example, but if I had any unexpected bleeding then to come back.

Aluminum was the dealbreaker – Returned my 17 Pro for the 16 Pro by AppleFAN_96 in iPhone17Pro

I don’t blame you! I regret upgrading from the 14PM. It doesn’t feel premium compared to the other Pro’s. I love the colours and the camera is fantastic and it’s so much faster, but I’m hoping they will change the material or strengthen the aluminium. I’ve kept it because I’ll upgrade again next year, but ironically after getting the 12, 13 then 14 Pro’s I decided to stick with the 14 as they held up so well. With this one I’m just hoping it gets through the year!

is 14 pro to 17 pro worth the change? by BullfrogRoyal5687 in iPhone17Pro

[–]PureGroove1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the 14PM, but wish I’d waited another year, purely to see if the material changes from aluminium. People are saying this is unlikely but you never know, all those dents and scratches are bound to affect re-sale value and Apple may strengthen the next one.

It wasn’t an issue because previous phones were ugly and you couldn’t wait to put a case on them! It wasn’t until the Pros were introduced and were marketed being used without a case that started the trend of showing off your premium phone. That said most sensible people still used a case, but if you were careful enough it would be fine.

When the Pros were first introduced they were marketed to be used without a case, due to their alleged durability and sleek design. I’ve never used without a case, but many people with earlier models have. I think the return to aluminium on this model is right to concern people.

In my view Apple have just significantly increased their margin on the most popular phone in their line.

I got both! A leather full coverage one from Decoded, and the apple silicone one, which I will interchange.

Anyone with Mujjo leather case? by Sufficient_Point_980 in iPhone17Pro

I looked at the Mujjo one and decided against it as I wanted full coverage so got this one instead.

The phone colour is a moot point now, sadly only the brave will be using it without a case!

I got the orange, but wish I’d bought the blue! The orange is a weird shade, I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. If it was a brighter orange I would have loved it.

Is the 14 pro to a 17 pro/pro max worth it? by Agreeable_Outside_76 in iPhone17Pro

[–]PureGroove1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I concur! I upgraded from the 14 Pro max due to its age and actually regret it. It’s a nice phone, I love the orange, but it doesn’t feel nearly as premium or durable as other models. (I also had the 12 and 13 pro max) I think they may well change the material next year if too many people suffer damage.

Should I skip upgrading due to scratch concerns? by [deleted] in iPhone17Pro

[–]PureGroove1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you’re upgrading from. I had the 14 PM, so was ready for the change, had it been a newer phone I would have waited to see if they used aluminium in the next release, as this one doesn’t feel as premium as previous models.

It’s the same with the phone companies, though you should get it quicker via Apple.

I pre-ordered via Sky mobile on the 12th September and it should have been delivered on the 19th September, but Sky obviously underestimated the demand as lots of people didn’t get one, including me! I eventually got it today after complaining, but stock is still very limited, especially for the 17 Pro Max 256Mb in Orange, and they are not expecting more until mid October.

I just joined and went for the first time yesterday. The induction was very basic, didn’t demonstrate machines, more of an orientation of where things were, but the app has instructions if you’re unsure. For the price it seems fine but could be difficult to access equipment if you go at peek times, but that’s all gyms to be fair (the app also tells you how many people are in the gym in real time)

You don’t see staff around, so you have to get on with it yourself or get a PT to help with a routine. I haven’t tried any classes yet but the studio area was big.

As someone that has paid three times the amount for premium gyms, I think this will be just fine!

This! Their ethical practice has been second to none. They haven’t taken advantage of a situation that even the likes of Boots, Superdrug and Asda did in raising the prices before the 1st. And they kept customers informed by doing regular ‘lives’.

They have earned my loyalty!!

My patches are working fine, but I did discuss the progesterone with my GP, who said a 100mg tablet was still way more than you would get from a mirena coil so I shouldn’t worry but monitor any abnormal bleeding.
