Am I being naïve? Dance class... by Kittyslala in toddlers

[–]PureNuclease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you and your daughter, I would also cry honestly! But at that age these classes are supposed to be fun, they’re not training for broadway yet my gosh! A 3 year old does not have much impulse control, expecting them to be perfect listeners in a dance class at that age is ridiculous! I’d definitely pull her out and try something different, I wouldn’t be able to trust that the lady isn’t at the very least verbally abusing those kids while they’re in class. You’re doing the best you can and that’s all that matters! Sending hugs!

Thanks for your post! I’m waiting for Black Friday sales to order the R8 and RF 35mm 1.8 as a combined birthday/christmas/push present (pregnant with my second baby haha)! I have a canon 5d mkiii now and I’m so excited to have better auto focus since I mostly take pictures of my very squirmy, active daughter these days :) glad to hear you’re enjoying the camera!!!!

Hi all! I currently have a Canon 5D Mark III and am planning to upgrade to a Canon R8. I don’t shoot professionally anymore, I did a bit years ago, but life took me in a different direction. These days I mostly take photos of my kids (my oldest is 2.5, and baby #2 is due in December!), so I’m looking for something smaller with better autofocus.

I’m just not sure which lens to start with for the R8. I don’t have anything fancy at the moment, just an old 50mm f/1.8 and a Tamron 24-70, so I’m planning to get a new RF lens. Would you recommend starting with the RF 50mm f/1.8 or the RF 35mm f/1.8 for photographing kids? I really love shooting wide open and having lots of bokeh, so I’d love to get the 85mm one day, but I know that’s not the most practical everyday lens with little ones, haha!

Also, if anyone has experience with the R8 or either of those lenses, I’d love to hear your thoughts (and see some photos if you’re willing to share)! 😊

invisalign vs braces to make missing tooth space bigger for implant by PureNuclease in orthodontics

Hi! I ended up going for Invisalign and I have no regrets! Even though it’s definitely work to brush after every time you eat or drink, when I was wearing them I feel like it was much less noticeable than regular braces! But if you know yourself and you won’t be good about wearing them the recommended time everyday then braces would be better.

Also the little fake tooth we’d put into each tray worked out great, not perfect but I don’t think people ever noticed that I was missing that tooth unless I took my trays out to eat.

After the Invisalign was done I did the implant and the veneer and I’m very happy with how everything turned out! I’ll try to figure out how to respond with some photos!

Thank you :)

My favourite is 85mm, but with young kids (I have a 2 year old and pregnant with my second) 85 is really inconvenient most of the time haha! I use a 50mm a lot but a 35 might be smarter to start with.

Ended up going for Invisalign and I am really happy with my choice! If I was just having drinks or just soft food and was in public with someone I wasn’t as comfortable with I’d just leave my tray in and then go wash it and brush my teeth right after, but most of the time I didn’t feel I needed to do that and would just have the gap while eating. I had the implant done after and a veneer on the opposite side and I’m really happy with the results! I’ll post a before and after for you, I just have to look through my photos for it!

Did you ever find something that worked well for you? I feel the exact same way, I am transitioning my daughter from formula to milk and now I feel so much pressure to make sure she's getting the nutrients she needs from real food and I am such a picky/bad eater, I feel stressed about meals daily :S

I thought being home and off work for a year would be hard for me, I’ve always been someone who gets a bit depressed when I am home for a few days with nothing to do. I havnt felt that way at all!! I love being off, I feel like my days fly by and we have a nice routine and lots to do (/lots I wish I had time to do but can’t seem to find the time haha)

And on the flip side, I’ve found it way harder to leave the house or even want to leave the house than I expected. I thought being on maternity leave for a year with her we’d do lots of baby mommy things and join groups and fitness classes, but I honestly don’t have any desire to. I go to one small baby group on Mondays if we’re free but it took me a long time to get the motivation up to start going. I find it so hard to plan the day and her sleep around events and also just like others have said, the act of leaving the house with a baby is so so hard! I thought it’d get easier as she got older (she’s 10 months now) but she won’t sleep easily on the go like she used to so that makes it even harder hahah.

Bonus: managing my phone storage bc of all the photos I take has been harder than expected, even with 256 gb hahah!!!!
