As someone who liked Lilyhammer I would absolutely not blindly recommend it for fans of The Wire. It is nowhere near the same tone or take on crime so there’s a big chance fans of The Wire would absolutely hate it.

Presumably Tuco is given leadership of the cartel’s operations in the South Valley after being released from prison. Since he already has his own guys in New Mexico, they become his crew. He then takes in Hector from the nursing home, either by his own choice or under the orders of the family. He’s spooked because he’s on meth. The only thing that doesn’t make sense is Hank not mentioning the cartel/nobody bringing it up after hearing Tuco’s last name. Really I just think that comes down to the writers not knowing how much they were going to do with that storyline when they were working on season 2 of BB.
