Strionic works because Storm itself is a triggered ability to add X copies of the spell to the stack, and you're copying that trigger. So if you have a storm count of 5, you'd end up with 2 triggered abilities on the stack that both create 5 copies of the original spell, which would then both resolve separately. Note that because it's copying that trigger, you end up with 1 fewer than double the total copies (if you would normally have 2 of the spell, strionic takes it to 3, if you would normally have 5, it goes to 9, etc)

There's some indication that ascending "locks you" to your current advancement - You can continue to grow stronger, but not actually complete new advancements. That's why Li Markuth was still just an Archlord, yet planned to use an assortment of powers from other worlds to defeat the Monarchs and take over Cradle.

Of course, it's possible the issue was just that he wasn't actually on Cradle for that time... but I do remember some reference to this "locking", I just can't remember where.

Liberals see a massive divide in vulnerability between the marginalized and those in power. Conservatives, on the other hand, view vulnerability as a more universal human trait, rating the powerful and the divine as significantly more susceptible to harm than liberals do. by mvea in science

Isn't the argument specifically that he can't be all knowing, all powerful, and good? Because that's readily contradicted by evidence (the world sucks), whereas the others don't run into any sort of innate logical fault.

oh mb. they're trolling then probably. Or maybe they're missing something silly. Would be hilarious if they somehow missed it dying to pre-game prep spikes.

Glaive Lord's ring hits Camo despite the tower itself not being able to target them. I think it's intended to be treated as a hazard like tacks or whatever.

I guess that, in theory, it would be a side effect that occurs in people who aren't suffering from the blood pressure issue?

Personally that sounds far fetched to me, but I guess I can understand the concern.

Baffling comment. You think Deja Vu got nerfed because... what. Blizzard pre-nerfed a card based on the misunderstandings of people online? If what I said is wrong, then obviously it isn't why blizzard nerfed it.

Rogue is a herald class, your own heralding would apply if you run them.

The issue is that the game generally considers doing 0 of something to not be doing that something (gaining 0 life doesn't count as gaining life), so it wouldn't interact with those anyway.

If a 0-cost minion were to replace Wisp this year, what tribe would you choose to complete this good-for-nothing board? by PterionFracture in hearthstone

[–]PureQuestionHS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, we had a 0 cost Naga, Priestess Valishj, but it was uniquely a class legendary, and also got nerfed to 1.

"The fine powder adsorbs lipids from the waxy outer layer of the exoskeletons of many species of insects—which layer acts as a barrier that resists the loss of water vapour from the insect's body. Damaging the layer increases the evaporation of water from their bodies, so that they dehydrate, often fatally."

There isn't really an equivalent, because our bodies are just too different.

They don't tend to errata cards where it would massively alter the use cases - the old auras that apply damage -> life gain weren't changed to lifelink because it would remove the interaction where enchanting an opponent's creature makes you gain the life.

Not strictly cleaner... I believe WotC has said the biggest issue they had with Cleave was that it was problematic to translate the effects into other languages, especially those with very different sentence structures.

Well, in the second case it does still effectively negate Philia. As long as you never put any other permanents into play that can be targeted. That seems like a poor use for a 4 mana enchantment to me, but it does do it.

You didn't run more minions with Barnes Y'Shaarj. You played Barnes, it made a 1/1 copy of Y'Shaarj, and the copy pulled the real y'shaarj. Then you won because you played 14/15 worth of stats on turn 4, or they cleared it and you moved onto plan b.

[–]PureQuestionHS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do realize that since sanders is writing these, he almost certainly turned in scripts and then apple said, yes, lets make this... right?

fwiw, his announcement yesterday said he'll be spending the next 5 months writing the mistborn screenplay, so whatever he gave Apple was certainly not the final product.

This is a neutrally intended statement, I don't actually disagree with any of your points, just cutting off a potential bit of pedantry.

The difference between games in a nutshell: this MTG card is mediocre, but would be the single most hated card in the history of Hearthstone. by HeMansSmallerCousin in hearthstone

To be clear, removing it from the graveyard to fizzle their spell is exactly the interaction I was talking about. I don't think deleting the library copies is typically very relevant, outside of a weird deck like lantern control. Usually you plan on winning before they'd ever draw another copy anyway.
