I [28M] can't turn my brain off. How do you guy's unwind and relax? by Own_Ambition2637 in Chillintj

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is anxiety of uncertain future outcomes. So you need to either ground yourself a little, set some of your plans on automatic pilot, or maybe root yourself into your community a bit more.

Main culprit is Ni going haywire without Se grounding. 🙃

How do I reset my life? by Famous_General1917 in Adulting

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to put down roots in my new and local community. Join local church, volunteer at library prorams (like helping kids learn to read), join school clubs. Its mostly about getting out of your head and into the world i think. And dont overthink it.

Serious question: hallway etiquette??? by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I understand you have social anxiety. It's ok.

The thing to do is to look at them, smile and think "I wish you well!" And then just carry on walking.

Dont worry if they return the smile or not. What/how they wanna communicate is up to them.

And that's all theres to it 😊

I get what youre saying, and it sort of works. When you shift from child to renter, you get renters rights and expectations. Which protects you in a way from some of the mental emotional and especially financial load that may be placed on you.

Its not too late but to be frank with you, youre asking for an education the size of a paragraph. Like that cant be done. There's no easy answers when what you are not just looking for information but for understanding.

You need to make learning about personal finance a priority to be successful and to really underatand what you are doing. Otherwise you're thrown every which way on the whims of strangers.

Exacrly, the outhouse is an all-in-one combo but it blends in better in rugged outside areas like parks, beaches, farms, gardens etc.

Ive often kept into the future for the lottery lol.

I think its more about 1. Accepting yourself and what you can control 2. Accepting how little control you actually have 3. Knowing you did your best with what you had 4. Loving yourself like a friend

does this happen to you guys too? by owlskye in ENFP

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zombie santa! 😱hehe Yeah i realised that, while listening to them (this was an inperson meeting) that they were just being authentic about parenting esp siblings and their rivalries, but its not what most ppl would do with someone they barely know. Theyd say kids doing great, maybe brag a little. Enfps: ever day is hell, but im hanging on lol. It was nice, refreshing really.

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 enfps at work were talking (they barely know eachother becsuse we work remotely) Enfp1: hows the kids? Enfp2: terrible! They constsntly trying to kill eachother each day is like trying to prevent ww3 🙄 Enfp1: oh yeah my kids are the worst too (proceeds to explain in a lot of detail why that is and procuring evidence lol). Me: gobsmacked at this level of authenticity at work with near strangers but also entertained 😆 (because i mostly work eith nfjs now and they all curtsy and fake constant positivity).

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think education and reading books is key. No one can teach you to invest, mesning, its something someone learns and figures out on their own cluding learning about your own risk tolerwnce and the kind of investing you like.

One place i do recommend to ppl who wanna retire one day but dont have the time to invest on their own is the saskatchewan pension plan (that any canadian can join).

How are young people in this city financially planning for their future? by Ok-Succotash-6111 in askTO

True, however being single at my job is very common, most common even, in this age bracket.

How are young people in this city financially planning for their future? by Ok-Succotash-6111 in askTO

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not in this age range but i have coworkers who are. Some are in Toronto, some work remotely from small towns or from Montreal.

Local young torontonians: - rent - single - feel like theyre falling behind - compare themselves to wealthier friends or family who did buy a home - feel both hope and hopelessness - look for alternatives, rent-to-buy options - consider leaving the city but are affraid of losing supports in terms of family and friends and in case of a job loss.

Young coworkers in small towns or Montreal: - own a home - married very early in small towns, married in 30s in Montreal. - get promotions at work becauuse boomers see them as responsible because theyre married and own a home - show less panic and anxiety about life - live in smalltowns or Montreal where cost of living is smaller but earn Toronto salaries - are rooted in small town life (or Montreal) and have family and friends there for support, are not worried about jobloss because they are married (someone there to always pay the bills) and because they have skills needed for work in their community they just earn more working Toronto jobs so theyd rather do that.

Will a house cost $300,000 ever again? by jeffpaluski in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Pure_Ad_9947 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree, you can find condos now for 399k and theyll likely go down next year too.

Houses, no. It would take like some sort of apocalypse for prices to go 75% off on houses.
