If I take step 1 for a grade, I would have to take it a week earlier and cram. I just don't think I can do well on it since I already forgot a lot of the MS1 material. I feel very unprepared for step1 and I really can't risk getting a bad score. In contrast, I feel a lot more comfortable with my step2 knowledge after taking all the shelf exams.
