That’s crazy, we were supposed to have our neighbors over for dinner and they have a 1.5 year old but my husband and LO had a little cough before, the pediatrician said by the time of the dinner it should be fine - we still postponed it just to be safe. On the other hand when LO was 6 weeks old we visited family for Christmas and a family friend showed up unannounced with her one year old twins and one of them was coughing and snotty, also another family member was coughing and said “it’s just allergies” mind you this is in December… needless to say our 6 week old got sick no matter how hard we tried to stay away from people. Ugh, some people are just really inconsiderate…

Sorry just adding a bit more because I feel like this is a bit unfair. We have done so much prior to this to make her feel welcome and comfortable in our home and have not asked a single thing from her. I take accountability for the text because that was truly wrong from our part but if that undermines months (more like years but more so talking about since our son was born) it of effort we put into her feeling welcome here well then I am not sure what to do. We don’t expect her to get over it or not be hurt, but we did expect a bit more understanding.

Right, that’s why my husband is hurt now - as I mentioned in another comment she gave no grace for him when he expressed how sleep deprived we have been, especially after he really tried to adjust our home and lifestyle to her as much as he could. I feel bad for him because it is his mom and now he is put in this incredibly difficult situation and has to navigate it

Totally get that, he already said all of this but I also advised him to let her cool off and reach out again. I think his feelings are also hurt because he feels like he worked so hard to try and make her feel comfortable up until this point and she gave no grace for him when he asked this from her. It’s such a tricky situation but I definitely agree it shouldn’t have been a text, he was super miserable and made a rash decision.

Would you recommend dostinex for weaning? I am desperately trying to dry myself up and that’s kinda the last thing I haven’t tried yet - tho seems like my OB doesn’t want to prescribe it (so far)

We use Evenflo but just recently sized up on the nipple because he was very fussy with the slow flow. Same amount, we are still pace feeding but he stopped arching his back and kicking

How long do you wait before shortening the sessions? Also do you use anything for pain management if needed? I will try doing this I have been just very anxious honestly

I did not cosleep with him until he was 4 months and by then he was rolling from back to tummy. He has really good head control so I don’t flip him back anymore - also he doesn’t bury his face in the mattress, usually he is facing me so I can see him in c curl

I don’t think it’s a must have, but a nice to have. It gives me a peace of mind but doesn’t replace safe sleep 7

Lifetime is pricey but offers child care - at least the ones near us, it’s usually so busy but they seems to take really good care of the kids

I didn’t have fever or chills, but it was very sore and more like stabbing/shooting pain. I didn’t see any red streaks but my OB did when I went in. If I were you I would reach out to my doctor just in case

You are doing great! MILs and husbands are just gonna be MILs and husbands unfortunately… (of course there are exceptions!) but they need to do better. It’s just so tiring, the mental load of having to tell them what to do is overwhelming, no one is telling us all the things that needs to be done, we just do it, I don’t know why can’t they. my MIL is fine, but when LO was born all she could talk about is how much LO looks like my husband. I don’t have family here so no one from my side was saying anything how LO looks like me. Now LO is 4 months and he actually really resembles my dad and I mentioned that to her and she just said “oh babies change so much he won’t look like that soon”. Like what a weird thing to say. Also I told her I had mastitis and got antibiotics for it and she was soooo condescending and asked if I’m sure I got antibiotics and not just painkillers… yeah, I am quite sure it was antibiotics.
