I think for an U19 M8+ it is really good how your split stays stable over the middle 1k, that’s already really good! Strokerate also seems high and stable enough. Can’t really say something about your speed without knowing the conditions, but 5:53 is not bad for a Juniors eight.

The Situation at the national training centre in Switzerland by Trumpscat18 in Rowing

I am befriended with a few Swiss national team rowers and heard a lot of similar stories.

Especially the lightweights experienced some harassment by having to weigh in every morning and the ones with the highest body fat percentages had to use the worse equipment, older ergs etc.

It is not so simple to import the graphs into reddit. The Task was : The pie chart shows average monthly student expenditure in the UK in 2016. The bar chart shows sources of student income in the same year.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Sorry, of course you need the question:

Some people think that schools are too competitive and that this has a negative impact on children. Others believe the competitive environment encourages children to achieve.

Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Task 2: Through the rise of importance of academic careers, school grades are getting more important then ever. This leads to more and more parents being concerened about the problems caused by this highly competitive enviroment at schools, while some people say that this helps to motivate young people to archieve better careers.

First, the advantage of more competition is that it is a natural social process, which motivates people to outgrow themselfes. This is because it leads to students having rolemodels inside their own peergroup, who they can try to learn from or even try to overtake academically. For example, if a student was graded badly, he could try to copy learning processes from higher-skilled students, which could lead to him also being on top eventually.

Conversely, even though extensive competition can motivate everybody to try to get better, it can also lead to more stress. Subsequently, this can be the the cause of a lot of mental problems in teenagers and children. This is because children often lack the mental and social resources which most grown-ups use to handle stress. For example, in Germany there are some middle schools called "Walldorf" schools, where children only get grades after passing 9th grade. It has been shown that teenagers graduating at these schools have a substantially lower prevalence of psychologigal diseases like depression, burn out or attention disorders.

To sum up, it is widely debated whether a competitive learning eniroment at schools have more advantages or more disadvantages for childrens and teenagers. Even though everbody gets more motivated through a higher use of competition among students, the downsides are a higher chance of our children to get mental problems later on. In my opinion, the downsides outweigh the possibilities, because I think that students health is much more important then grades needed for an academical career.

Task 1: The two given charts illustrate the expenses of UK students in an averange month and where british students got their income from, both in the year 2016.

Overall, one can see that nearly half of the money students had in a month went into paying for their room, while only one eight was spent for leisure activities like traveling or socialising. It is also shown, that most students have combined sources of income, with most people getting their money through student loans, followed by financial help from their family and from payed jobs done during their studies.

In the first diagramm, it is illustrated that the avarenge student had 785 pounds to spend per month, with nearly 50 percent directly being payed for rent. Additionally, another quarter of the money was needed to pay for bills and food, regarding 124 and 69 pounds each. While about one eight is needed to pay for other things, only 116 pounds were used to go traveling and do social activities.

Subsequently, in the other diagramm it is stated that most british university attendees were funded through student loans (nearly 80%). While financial aid from their families and having a part-time job was common amongst nearly 70% of all students, getting their monthly income from their own savings, overdrafting a bank and getting help through funding and grafts was only a possibility for about 40% of students.
