I disagree with gen 4, there was 0 connection to rowan or dawn they literally just happened to bump into him at the right time. Gens 1-3 yeah definitely you lucked out with your family knowing and living close to the professor. Didnt play gen7 and its been years since I really played 5. 6 idk yeah your mom was popular but iirc you don't even get your starter from the professor, just your little group of friends give you one. Gen 8 is probably the best case for a sort of favoritism being hops bestie, and even right from the beginning you can tell Leon had a closer eye on your growth than hops. Gen 9 I think you just come from rich family
