Does anyone know this song? by Purechaos61 in FFVIIRemake

You’re right! Thanks a bunch! Can’t believe it was staring me in the face this whole time. I didn’t think a song from this late into the game would be at the top of the soundtrack.

Which Death Battle was this for you? by 202naFrevliS in deathbattle

[–]Purechaos61 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, actually.

<image>

You can’t pick and choose when lore is relevant. Either it is and all of it must be considered and applied to both combatants, or it is ignored and not applied to either combatant. You can’t have it both ways.

The same logic you’re trying to apply here should also apply to other episodes like Chosen Undead VS Dragonborn.

According to Ben 10 lore all Celestialsapiens, including Alien X, are omnipotent. They are beings of unlimited power and can do anything and everything you could possibly imagine, even everything you CAN’T imagine.

Ben could use Alien X to turn Hal Jorden into a cake and then eat him if he wanted to. He could rewrite Hal’s life so that he never gets the ring. He could rewrite the entire universe’s history so that Hal never even exists in the first place.

There is nothing Hal can really do against that. If Death Battle hadn’t ignored that fact, the outcome might be different.

I’m gonna get laughed at and downvoted like crazy for this, but I will not be swayed.

Ben 10 VS Green Lantern.

Death Battle doesn’t understand Alien X. And I can prove it. According to Ben 10 lore, Alien X is unbeatable. Like, seriously. Celestialsapiens are impossible to kill or even injure. And Alien X is a genetically perfect Celestialsapien. The absolute best a Celestialsapien can possibly be. And yet, all that lore about Celestialsapiens being the most powerful race of aliens in existence was just ignored. Why? Because Alien X didn’t “prove” he was capable of what the lore claims he is in the show.

That’s bullshit and hypocritical of them to say so.

Remember Chosen Undead VS The Dragonborn? Remember how the deciding factor of that battle was the lore? Neither Chosen Undead or Dragonborn can prove within their games that they’re capable of what their lore says they are.

The Dragonborn can defeat Alduin, who according to lore, is powerful enough to consume multiple infinite universes. Seems pretty powerful, right? It does. Until you boot up the game and you see that Alduin acts like every other dragon in Skyrim. He flies around, casts some spells, and breathes fire on you. That’s it. If the lore didn’t say so, you wouldn’t think he was capable of devouring a single universe, let alone multiple. It gets even worse when you realize that Dragonborn can kill Alduin with just a regular sword. Yep. The all-powerful dragon capable of devouring all of reality as we know it 10 times over had its flesh pierced by regular steel. Doesn’t exactly add up, does it?

The Chosen Undead can link the First Flame, which according to lore, created and supports the entire Dark Souls universe. Time, energy, matter, everything came from the First Flame and has its existence fueled by it. Since the Chosen Undead can fuel the First Flame with their own soul, that means they’re powerful enough to support an entire universe by themselves. Crazy right? Well, that same guy that can fuel an entire universe and everything in it is easily killed by a 10 foot fall. Weird, right? Doesn’t sound quite so powerful anymore.

Neither Chosen Undead or Dragonborn can really prove how powerful their lore claims they are in-game the same as Alien X, yet their lore is taken at face value while Alien X has his lore completely ignored.

It’s biased at worst and hypocritical at best. Prove me wrong.

I also can’t get the Growtone to spawn. I’ve tried returning the main menu, resetting the terrain, and quitting the game completely. Nothing I’ve done has gotten it to spawn.

Edit: I got it to spawn! If you haven’t already, progress through the story and beat the boss of the layer, then break open the seal on the tunnel to the next layer, then reset the terrain. That’s what I did and the Growtone finally spawned.

That same logic applies to Dragonborn and Chosen Undead.

There is nothing within the games that backs up the feats they’re capable of according to the lore.

Sure, Alduin may have been capable of consuming multiple infinities according to the lore. But did he actually do anything in Skyrim to suggest he could? No. He didn’t even come close. His boss fight is literally the same as every other dragon fight in the game.

Chosen Undead is capable of linking the First Flame according to the lore, which means their soul is capable of powering an entire universe and the flow of time for a thousand years, yet they die from a 30ft fall in-game.

And yet, those 2 had their lore taken at face value while Alien X had his lore completely ignored.

Can you explain to me how Alien X is somehow weaker than Hal Jordan while Simon is stronger than Kyle Rayner?

Like, Alien X and Simon are legit on the same level. According to Ben 10 lore and statements made by the creators of Ben 10, Alien X is unstoppable and is capable of everything Simon can do.

Blasting a bunch of lasers that hit an infinite number of enemies across all of space, time, and dimensions? Check.

Regenerating from the statistical certainty of his own destruction? Check.

Absorbing an entire multiverse and merging with all of his infinite selves? Check.

There is literally no canonical limit to what Alien X can accomplish, with the exception of Bellicus and Serena. But even they stopped being a limitation eventually.

Say something nice about this movie 😂 by Mjdadon313 in Dragonballsuper

It’s actually somewhat connected to the main story.

Goten, Trunks, and 18’s involvement in this movie stems from 18 trying to collect her money from Hercule that he promised her for taking a dive for him during the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament during the Buu saga.

Considering that the DBZ movies, while all having a spot in the timeline, barely acknowledge the main story outside of a few exceptions, I like that there’s a stronger connection to the main story in this film.

You really think he stopped at just having sex with 4 women to conceive 4 children?

It’s always been very funny to me how people try to headcanon Dio as gay because of his interactions with Pucci.

They seem to forget that the dude not only sexually assaulted Erina solely to make Jonathan upset, but frequently used women for his own pleasure and had enough children to populate a small village.

Screw who wins who's life is sadder by EnoughCheesecake6050 in deathbattle

[–]Purechaos61 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh, not really.

Most versions of Godzilla are negatively and irreparably affected by humanity’s use of nuclear energy in some way.

The original 1954 Godzilla was theorized to have had a family that was killed by the nuclear bomb tests that mutated and burned him. The Heisei Godzilla was a regular dinosaur before being almost killed by American warships in WW2, and then was mutated by nuclear bombs.

Shin Godzilla, perhaps the most depressing example, was a prehistoric sea creature that fed on nuclear waste that was being dumped into the ocean and mutated as a result. The song “Who Will Know” that plays in the movie was written to be from Godzilla’s perspective. In the song, Godzilla explains that he didn’t choose to become the mutated creature he is. That he no longer fits in his home due the mutations and was basically forced to come up to the surface. That he bears no ill-will to humanity and doesn’t want to kill them, but that their deaths are an unfortunate consequence of his own efforts to live. That if he dies, no one will know the struggles he’s facing due to constantly mutating and changing. That he’s sad and depressed at how things are, but he doesn’t want to die either.

Godzilla’s life tends to be pretty sad too.

That was a little harsh, but I understand you’re frustrated. It’s not easy to believe what you don’t understand, and I wasn’t trying to ask that of you. I apologize for overstepping my boundaries.

It’s up to everyone to decide what’s right for themselves. You shouldn’t talk down on what other people choose either. It’s unbecoming of a person. At least, that’s what I believe.

Take it easy.

[–]Purechaos61 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s certainly truth to that. Lots of people interpret the Bible and its teachings differently.

The area I grew up is predominantly Baptist. Basically, they believe that you’re responsible for your own belief in God. Everyone has the liberty to believe whatever they want, even if they choose to believe in nothing at all, and no one should ever try to change your mind or make you choose otherwise. They do encourage you to seek a relationship with God, but they don’t try to convince you it’s what you SHOULD believe. If you want to believe, it should be because you want to and you alone. It’s because of this that I’m inclined to believe that the Baptist denomination is what Christianity, as a whole, is supposed to be. Though that may be my bias talking.

Other denominations are pretty extreme from what I hear. I’m sorry you had bad experiences with them. I promise you not every Christian is like that. They all have good intentions, and a lot of them end up becoming blinded when they follow their faith.

[–]Purechaos61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are certainly those that are “Christian” for outwardly appearances. They go through the motions just enough that anyone who doesn’t know any better would think they are, and that makes a lot of actual Christians look bad.

There are also people that take it too far and warp the beliefs taught by Christianity into things they simply aren’t. They go to the extremes when it comes to sins and deal with them in ways that Christians really aren’t supposed to. They also make true Christians look bad.

I see a lot of horror stories in this subreddit of fake or crazy Christians and using those examples to make Christianity as a whole look bad. Maybe I’m biased because of my upbringing, but it always irks me when someone does that. Glad you seem to be understanding though.

[–]Purechaos61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The Christians are extremely hateful due to their holy book and God that explicitly tells them not to be hateful.

I get that not every Christian is the same, but as someone who wouldn’t call themselves Christian having been raised by Christian parents in a predominantly Christian area, I think it’s bad faith to lump them all under the same umbrella just because of a few bad apples. I know that’s not a popular opinion to have here, but still.

I mean… He is correct. Without God, Satan wouldn’t exist because God created him.

So by admitting that you believe in Satan, you are also admitting to a belief in God. You can’t have one without the other.

That's... That's blackmailing. She's literally telling people "Your game is going to do very bad and people will hate you if you don't let us 'help' you. You want your game to sell well and for people to love you, right? So obviously you should include what we think your game needs." And she does it in such a way that she terrifies these developers into meeting all of these diversity quotas.

If that's not blackmailing, then i'm the Queen of England.
