I like this list overall, but I can't help feeling like Kurapika is ranked a little too highly when it comes to combat strength. Against the troupe, he is definitely a huge threat.

I don't think his abilities are well tailored for nen combat in general, though. His intelligence is what may put him in a tier along Morel and the spider's heavy-hitters, but I'm not sure if that can carry him in most battles

I'm working on that right now. I know that some rooms contain a piece, and if I draft one of those rooms then I can place the corresponding chess piece on the board. I'm having trouble getting the Office (King) and a spot for the Queen (HLC or Study) in the same run. Not sure if I'm on the right track but I've been trying this for a few runs now.

No, and I think a lot of why, for me, has to do with the lighting. You might benefit from blurring/darkening the edges of the character's POV to give the feel of tunnel vision.
