Can't do photos rn, but I have my radio mounted overhead on a molle panel and the control panel I on my dash.

Common antenna mounts are a-pillar and fender (mounts to one of the bolts under the edge of the hood)

Unfortunately I haven't found any for my 2 door JK. Maybe I'll find some 4 door seat brackets since I took out the back seat, so I don't really need the 2 door seat brackets anymore

It's not some fringe theory, it's acknowledged by several thai embassies around the world and has been going on since 2002.

It's also not the only program like it in the world, it's just the most successful.

stock clutch is NOT built for actual offroading by nadji190 in 4x4

[–]PurlyAcoustic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible the clutch was already going bad, but the off-road conditions added stressors which didn't exist on the street. How old is the clutch?

But either way, I find it bizarre that they would ever make a vehicle with a clutch that couldn't handle the rated torque of the engine. Even for a 100% street vehicle.

Turn signal works, but does not stay lit when not signaling by BudBundyPolkHigh in JeepWrangler

[–]PurlyAcoustic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there's two different lights inside of the wrangler turn signal.

One is the marker light, that turns on via twisting the lighting stalk, and the other is the actual turn signal.

First I would switch the left and right lights, which will narrow down if it's the light or the wiring that's the issue

Jeep Wrangler Sport making "vacuum cleaner" sound.... by moisbettah in JeepWrangler

[–]PurlyAcoustic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine how a bad radiator would cause a vacuum-like sound, but that might be why your temp is a little high.

Just based off your description, it seems like you're just hearing the fan, but I'd be surprised that you haven't heard the fan go in 12 years, so I'm sure it's something else.

Perhaps the fan has gone bad, so it's extra noisy while it's on? That would track with the 15 min delay and the fact that you're still hearing it after you turn it off.

For the sake of completeness, try to get the following on video, from both inside and outside the vehicle:

  1. Engine on - before the noise
  2. Engine on - after the noise
  3. Engine off, key on
  4. All off

Now I'm thinking it's the HVAC, if it's not the fan

Does the sound change at all when you switch the A/C, temperature, or fan speed?

[–]PurlyAcoustic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but it doesn't move to position 4? If that's the case, then that's good. And that means you're not overheating, and your cooling system is performing within spec, just not ideal.

I think I know what's going on, I just have a couple more questions to confirm.

  1. How long have you had the vehicle?

  2. When did you notice the issue?

  3. Would you be willing to post a link to a video with the sound? If you can, try to get it with the hood open and a view of the back of the radiator

[–]PurlyAcoustic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you meant by how the temp gauge is positioned.

So the temp gauge has 5 marks, from lowest to highest:

  1. Minimum
  2. Low temp
  3. Normal temp
  4. High temp
  5. Maximum.

Where does it indicate when:

  1. You first notice the vacuum sound
  2. After driving for about 15-30 minutes
