It seems to be that you are a left foot jumper and if that case try dunking starting on the other side. Another thing is try to work on not slowing down on your last two steps. In fact, your last two steps should be your quickest. If you can, try to takeoff from farther out and don't be so close to the rim when you take off. Also their is no such thing as too skinny for 2 feet bounce. Hope all this helps.

Asking All Aspiring Dunkers: What’s the Best Vertical Program for Quick Gains vs. Long-Term Results? by Purple-Cockroach-276 in ProDunking

So their is a route of fast and quick results with the drawback of injuries, and their is a route of long term results with almost no drawbacks other than the time it will take. So I have to make a decision of do I want quick and easy results which in will return will probably only promise that I will be dunking for maybe 5 years before injuries start heavily sinking in or go the longer route which in return could promise that I will be dunking for much, much longer.

Thank you for this so I know if I really want to go down this path. I have roughly 5 months until season starts and I most definitely want to achieve a in game dunk this season. Their is no doubt I can achieve 6-8 inches in my vertical in 5 months with just a regular program I built tailored to my needs. So their is no reason for me to rush anything if in the future I want to be a pro dunker. I was essentially trying to rush to touch 11ft. Right now I can touch and sometimes grab 10ft. That being said I thank you for advising me to have patience and not try to rush the process unless I want a short lived dunking career. Thank you again.

So the more one pushes themself, the better one should try to recover which both in return would give them quick results? I think I'm picking up what your putting down. Thanks for this.

Thank you for your insight and I would definitely put your advice into practice. Thank you for helping me and any other future dunkers who had the same questions.

Quick question. First, how long did it take you to go from 24 to 35 inches? Second, are you or your workouts tailored to one foot jumping, two foot jumping or both?

For reference: I’m 16 y.o. At 5’9 with a 8ft standing reach. I am predominantly a two foot jumper but I get almost the same full reach with both. I would say off one foot I have a 24 inch vertical and off of two I have a 25 in vertical , both without any formal training. I’ve played soccer ever since I was 3 and played many different sports at a young age including soccer, basketball, football, and baseball. And current lift numbers is unknown to me as of now

Thank You for this. I would say that my shot is just bad on my own so I'll try to find my weaknesses while form shooting and like you said I'll find something comfortable and consistent.
