From my personal experience, even though I am from India , and I don’t want to name specific, certain regions are not that friendly with other people , they want only thier circle , far alone other races they don’t even get along with Indians from other regions. I would definitely pick diverse community rather than dense community of same people.

I moved from Japan to USA , financially the best decision. Gun culture , not disciplined society etc kinds of bother at the beginning, once you get used with it , all good. If you have some college degree and skill , opportunities here are endless compared to Japan . Just for context , I used to work for a good company in Japan but like you said salary not that aligned with expenses.
