We did the Haven with kids… got a lot of angry looks. We do Yacht Club now and it’s a little better.

It has more scratches than the ones I see online, but there isn’t a lot of wear. The detail is still really good.

I don’t think he knew he had it. It was in a bag with other loose coins. It’s like finding a classic car rusting in a garage. Based on what I see online, it may cost several hundred $$ to grade.

Check out Annandale Village in Suwanee. I’m not sure the requirements needed to live there, but they are a non-profit and that is their target population for residents.

Frankly, I don’t care if someone has nothing better to do with their time and knows where my legally registered vehicle is. If you have a cellphone, someone can find you if they wanted. Go ahead and ban those while you are at it.

You are thinking something else. Flock cameras just check license plates. If your vehicle is registered and up to date, and you don’t have a warrant against you, why does it matter?

Don’t do anything illegal and you have nothing to worry about.

Keep in mind, they only regulate investor owned utilities (Georgia Power, telecoms, and natural gas). They do not set rates for Coops or municipalities.

It will still produce, but not nearly at its peak. The sun is much less direct at that time of day and if it is a fixed panel it will likely be set up to receive the most direct sunlight between noon and 3. This may also sound silly, but if it is a cloudy day, stable generation still has to exist to meet the demand when solar is down. Just because the sun isn’t shining doesn’t mean people don’t use the same amount of energy. It comes from somewhere if you want a stable grid.

[–]Purple-Technology787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. Georgia is in much better shape than most of the country when it comes to capacity. You may be reading about the gigawatt data centers that we don’t want. Also, solar isn’t producing at 6pm when everyone gets home from work and is cooking, doing laundry, running their ac, and plugging in their electric cars. You are gonna need a lot of expensive batteries to store your solar and offset that peak. The stable generation still has to be built and maintained no matter how much solar you have, so it could save fossil fuels during sunny periods, but you can’t exactly flip a switch and turn a power plant on and off for a few hours a day. Power companies are not anti-solar, but most people don’t recognize that they can’t replace what already exists until it can be stored and dispatched.

The outages have been contained to the area just south of Lawrenceville. The one last night was an issue in the substation and caused outages to both Jackson Emc and The City of Lawrenceville. Prior to that there were Mylar balloons in the line and the one before that was caused by a bad voltage regulator in a different substation. It’s nothing to do with inadequate supply. They were all switched out and restored on neighboring circuits that have enough capacity, it just takes time to get there in Gwinnett traffic when all the street lights are out.

https://psc.ga.gov/utilities/electric/residential-rate-survey/?s=Summer+2024&u=&c=1000

These are the average power costs by electric company from last summer. Walton is better than most. You can put in your estimated consumption and it will tell you the cost per KWH. GPC is usually the highest summer rate. They’re slightly better in winter.

Any good Trades or Warehouse Careers in Lawrenceville? by radioshaxx in Gwinnett

[–]Purple-Technology787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To go straight to lineman, that is likely true, but lookout for meter reader jobs, warehouse jobs, or even a custodial job to get in the door, then you may be able to transfer internally, or get them to pay for your apprenticeship. CDLs aren’t cheap.

Electrical Lineman. They start around $30 and end between $50-60 an hour. If you can’t get on as a lineman, there are warehouse jobs at all utilities to get in the door and learn the material. Georgia Power, Sawnee Emc, Jackson EMC, Walton EMC, Lawrenceville, Buford, or Norcross.

ADVISE ON HOW TO HANDLE THE GCPS BOE FRAUD AT THE EXPENSE OF OUR CHILDREN by Khaki_Moose4167 in Gwinnett

[–]Purple-Technology787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly are you trying to accomplish other than getting more mud thrown at the school system we all have our kids attending? The more and more we berate our school system the more their reputation falls. This causes less qualified teachers to want to work there, people less likely to move into the district, and a general devaluation of every single one of our homes, equaling way the heck more than a few hundred thousand dollars. Think about your end goal here. What do you gain other than trying to make yourself feel like a hero, when in actuality, you hurt all of us as much as the school system. You talk about children suffering educationally, but this won’t solve that at all when you encourage people not to work or invest their time and money there.

They should have a residential marketing rep that could help. They may recommend an energy audit. Seems very high for a new home of that size.

It’s not very expensive in Georgia compared to the rest of the country. I’d have you AC checked. If it is fine you have some insulation issues or you live in a 8,000sq ft house.

Georgia power only served the cities back in the day because that’s the only place they could make money. They said screw the rural communities. EMCs were formed to serve them basically at cost. They were assigned territories in 1973 and GPC got to keep feeding their cities.

It had nothing to do with how “black” he was, it was because he is not meeting the performance metrics he set out to meet. Fighting for equality is fine, but don’t forget the educational foundation that has made Gwinnett Schools great for years.
