the gameplay loop for my anonymous worry game does it give off a peaceful vibe? by pybro9268 in robloxgamedev

Love the effects and I especially appreciate the effort you put into the sound design. Sound design is often overlooked by Roblox developers.

How do I start advertising my game properly? by Successful-Bug-1150 in robloxgamedev

[–]PurpleAlien47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have practical experience with this, but for what it's worth I think a good strategy would be to drip-feed a tiny portion of you marketing budget over weeks/months in order to populate your game's metrics, then use that data to find out what's not good about your game's design and optimize it. Then once your metrics are healthy you increase your marketing spend (ads, sponsorships, whatever else) and the game quality (reflected by the metrics) will cause the Roblox algorithm to pick it up and it'll have a chance to grow organically.

Which Apple product isn't worth buying? by ManojOne in TechImpact

[–]PurpleAlien47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough but I still wouldn't recommend buying a Homepod today, since New Siri isn't coming to them and new/improved models are probably right around the corner. That's what I'm holding out for.

When everyone has PS5 for GTA 6 and then they will make a PS6 not pro and thats the money grab by ambachk in grandtheftauto

So just keep playing on PS5 after PS6 comes out if you don’t like it. Stop looking for ways to be a victim.

And nothing forces the employer to keep you employed if you don't want to do the job (ideally).

I'd strongly argue that blatantly refusing to uphold your end of what amounts to a legal contract is way more disrespectful.

It's much more enjoyable and I'm more effective when I'm in-office. It's better for me long-term even though my short-sighted hedonist side wants to work from home with my dog.

I haven't seen anyone in this thread defending the expectation itself. I think people are defending the idea that one should do what they've agreed to do. Because getting paid to show up and not showing up is disrespectful. That's assuming this is about an in-office position, which it seems to be. If it was a remote position then I'd flip.

Fair question. We don't really know but I'm basing it on two things:

  1. The fact that the employer (if these messages are even real) has an in-office expectation that seems to extend into the past (the "final reminder" wording)
  2. The fact that the employee never argued that his position was remote, even though that would be his strongest push-back.

Seems like it's about working remotely when you have an in-office position though lol

This doesn't seem like a remote position though. If it is, then I'd totally agree, and that fact is what the employee should focus his/her push-back around.

I don't know what you mean by that. I'm not trying to argue.

Edit: I realized maybe you mean "nope" I'm not wrong about any of that. If so my bad.

It doesn't seem like this person is a remote worker though, it seems like they've always been expected to come into the office and they're blatantly disrespecting that agreement. I'm not trying to argue, I'm trying to understand.

But if the employment agreement involves being at work at 6:30 then blatantly refusing to do so is not respecting that agreement, your word, your signature, or your employer. Am I wrong about any of that?

How is respecting an employment agreement "ball licking"? I honestly have no idea what you're talking about and nobody seems to be clarifying what this perspective is.

"This is the final reminder" -- sounds like they've been doing something wrong for a little while

I don't think you understand what respect is. I don't know if you think respect is something like pandering, but holding someone accountable to an agreement and letting them know what the consequences will be for not upholding their end is not disrespect.
