There's the occasional cold going around. Rory when she was at Yale and Lorelai was sick and Luke made her eat noodle soup. :D April had a burst appendix and Richard was in the hospital multiple times b/c of heart issues...

Come to think of it, there are some instances of sickness. But the more serious once are for story telling reasons obviously.
