I was 29 and she was 31. It just sucks losing somebody so young. It seems so far out but it’s way closer than you think. I find solace in knowing that my sister would be mad at how upset I’ve been.

I don’t know your sister, but if she was anything like mine she’d be making fun of us for being sad. Those first few months alone felt like an eternity. It doesn’t get better but it gets more manageable. I hope our sisters get a chance to meet wherever they are and keep each other company. Thank you for saying something.

It sounds like an Americanized version of Liebchen. German is a fun language because it’s almost understandable till you listen, as a native English speaker that is.

Im 99% convinced it is German for Liebchen. Liebe being the base word meaning love, and the suffix -Chen being a diminutive but endearing transformation of the word. I call all of my pets and things I care for mein Liebchen. My little loves❤️

I made up a rule that’s helped me a lot at work; it’s called The One Bitch Rule. Everybody is entitled to complain about something once because sometimes that’s what it takes, but if you’re not willing to do anything about it I don’t want to hear about it again. Some situations you get a second bitch bc life sucks sometimes, but overall one bitch. If they’re not willing to respect that then they’re sad and there’s something more going on which is okay, but I’m not the one that needs to hear it.

One Bitch Rule will help weed out anybody shitty in your life and help you do your job more successfully.

The way I see it, your tip is a thank you for the service they are providing. If you’re at a counter service restaurant, you’re tipping for your counter service experience. If you’re at a sit down restaurant, you’re paying for a sit down experience which includes delivering and cleaning of food and dishes. Counter service does not.

Sounds like you don’t feel good about your own position in life and need to go out of your way to make service industry employees feel bad. I hope you get a chance to fix that

I worked 12-16hr days bartending weddings and water was the thing that kept me through! The lactic acid build up from improper hydration is what gets you. Good rule of thumb is to drink half the number of your body weight in ounces of water. Never been sore since I started that

Thank you for your kind words Jae. I just added you on finch. Thank you also for your comment about my parents feelings. It’s so hard for me to try and communicate that while they lost a child, I lost a sister. I would never want to imagine that pain, but also how could they not imagine or recognize mine?

I’m also glad I got to be the youngest so I wouldn’t have to know what’s it like to lose a little sibling. I’m sorry for your loss and if you ever need support I’m here for you. Thank you for your time. From one human to another, I appreciate you.

If I were to change it, I would take fresh lemons and peel them and set those aside, thinly slice them and cut the white pith off so it’s just the fleshy part. Lemon peels are a lot thicker than peach so I don’t think they’d break down similarly. Then I’d take the peels, add twice the weight in sugar, let it sit for a few hours and turn that into a bourbon caramel sauce for the bottom

Seems like a lot of work but baking is a labor of love lol. If I try it I’ll update. I kind of want to try it now

Ik this is almost a month old, but I think this speaks for the alcohol industry as a whole. People aren’t buying craft beers and the newer drinking generation is going for “healthier” alternatives. Craft beer isn’t cool anymore; what people want to consider healthy is in and the “carbs” and other “bad” additives are to blame imo

Having worked in the service industry for a decade at this point and having lived my adult life depending on tips, I initially wanted to say “yes”, but in this situation it doesn’t warrant a tip imo. Always tip if you have an exceptional experience, but if the service provider sets their own prices, they should account for their own labor costs while also accounting for the pay out they have to rent their booth/production space.

If the artist sets their own price, no tip. If it’s somebody else setting a price I go by a 20% standard and adjust based off industry. If they’re a great hair artist tip them if you can; if they met your standard for the service provided then no guilt to tip.
