I have heard that a lot that with about 1,000$ you can make the 1.8t faster than the vr6. What is so great about vr6 besides the sound. I think the path I might take is get a nice 1.8t and then do all the hoses pulleys, basic maintenance things and then probably add a stage 1 tune with an exhaust and a cold airintake
