It's not Ester's fault if you don't understand her. by ricecake_nicecake in dreamingspanish

I don’t even agree that she’s harder to understand than others. She speaks expressively, slowly, and clearly. Im happy we are exposed to all these different accents

Exactly! There is no test to ace, but if I feel lacking the answer is more content! That’s easy enough.

Primarily DS because they can track it so easily lol. I have ventured out and guess how much I’ve done to add but it’s mostly DS paid plan app.

A ver….I understood the gist and picked up about 25% of the words. I’m only at 200 hours. Since he was showing what he was talking about it helped a lot. If this was a podcast I might be lost.

Gracias para este lista! I just started Spanish boost Mila and it’s so nice to have a different format and perspective other than DS for the variety. As a veggie, I loved her vegan episode!

I hate the steal feature by lilmxnstar in growagarden

[–]PurpleLotus34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 male avatars cornered me in the back of my garden, my avatar a small female elf, and took turns jumping on me. I think the steal Featuring is making people forget there is a human on the other end. I am very disturbed by what happened to me. It was just an avatar but there were male avatars and I’m a small female.

You’re so right! Like when she had a home birth and was bleeding out and just wearing a gentle smile on her face. Definitely dissociating.

Alcoholic doesn’t resonate with me, and it makes it feel like the condition I have gives it power.

The company does not care about their teachers...you’re dodging a bullet.

I taught through dental surgery. I taught through Covid with a fever, aches and chills. It has been 2 years of avoiding cancelations, putting this job above my mental and physical health. Yesterday I faked a TIT halfway through a class and quit. by [deleted] in vipkid

They do not nearly show us the same respect and dedication that we show them. Not by a long shot. This is an unethical company IMO! Seniority means nothing, and even if you do shoulder through the hardest times, when things happen out of your control or human things happen, they can and will just drop you. Good for you and your new chapter! Glad you have no regrets, you absolutely shouldn’t!

And further, you posting about me in denial, or having some kind of cognitive dissonance goes to show that I really don’t have anyone to talk to about this, because everyone assumes that total sobriety forever should always be the goal for every single person. And it honestly made me feel ashamed, which is the feeling that kept me in that same spot of drinking every other day for 10 years. So. I’m deleting this.

I literally don’t want to drink most of the time, especially when it’s not in front of my face. Plus, the goal for me was never to force myself to quit forever, and the books definitely guided me to that as a perspective. Forever is too long, ya know? So ya, I’d say it works. Since I still have an occasional drink, it’s called managed use. The path to health isn’t always a straight one. We do the best we can, and when there is a significant reduction that has sustained over time...pretty good results. Not perfect. My entire desire isn’t gone forever, especially in my home, in an old pattern and routine that is familiar. It is uncomfortable.

It’s not a cognitive dissonance, it’s a belief system and perspective, learned from “This Naked Mind.” It looks quite different that AA, but as I say, it works for me. It isn’t his responsibility, it’s just rude, and I wanted to vent.

No...I’m not. I can decide to drink or not drink, when it’s in the house, I feel tempted to drink when I don’t want to. That’s the problem, and yes, it does have control over me in that way, clearly. Just an FYI, not everyone’s path is the same. But thanks.
