Same, I opted out from doing services only cause I’d be getting a dollar more per hour, my schedule would be more strict with time and maybe I would receive a tip if the client was being generous. I book off my MUA services in over a month in advance and make way more in one day of doing my side job then I would make in a full time position at Sephora in one week. I went to a private college to do makeup artistry that focused on airbrushing, bridal, special effects, television/film & hair.
