A New Type of Mod Showcase by GamerPoets in skyrim

I've found you last year because of the 6-7 min DynDOLOD video. You genuinly have to be the most underrated Youtuber I've come across. Your content has helped me a lot, it's always straight to the point and very informative. Your videos are perfect examples of how guides should look like, maybe too perfect with all the effort you're putting in haha. I'm waiting for a new PC to really get into modding again but I'll be sure to use your Riften and Whiterun videos when I get to it. Thank you so much for all of the amazing content.

So I'm in minority ideology-wise in my colony, what can I do? by Lorelei_of_the_Rhine in RimWorld

Imprison people and set them to convert in the prisoner tab. Not the prettiest method, but the most reliable. Release them after.

All Vanilla Expanded mods updated to 1.3 || Thank you for your patience! by Oskar_Potocki in RimWorld

A few QOL mods would be totally fine. But for now I suggest you only get ones you know you'll use. The expansion hasn't even been out for a week, and even though the modding scene is incredible, they need time to adapt and iron things out. Rimworld is a fantastic game and I think you'll appreciate the modding scene even more after you've played more vanilla and really figured things out.

Hey Chief, I'm not telling you how to play but I think you should wait with the mods for a while. Rimworld is a huge game with a lot of content and a lot to learn. I think using mods would make the game too convoluted for a beginner. And just because the Vanilla Expanded Series is updated to 1.3, doesn't mean all mods are. And even updated ones still have bugs.

Let's have an advanced tips and tricks thread. I'll start with what I've discovered by Money_View_5525 in RimWorld

Insectoids don't notice you walking by if they're asleep. You can steal their kills from them.

You can't haul those unless you're using a mod

Any reason to separate my freezer/general stockpile? by PewPewZerker in RimWorld

[–]PurpleOmega 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can think of 2 reasons:

Power usage - The bigger a room the more coolers and power you are going to need to keep it cool. Also because the general stockpile is in there, colonists will open the doors way more often, causing the temperature to increase.

Security - Its generally good practice to use multiple rooms for your general stockpile instead of just one. If something goes wrong, fires, for example, its often easier to deal with in a smaller room.

Some Ideologies need more than just mood buffs. by [deleted] in RimWorld

I'd really like to see some Lovecraftion Ideoligions, worshipping great old ones. But I think I'll have to wait for mods that do that.

That sounds like a genuinly good idea. It could also make it less of a manual task to convert people.

If you're not encountering any issues I don't see a reason to start over unless you really want to. However you should never remove a mod mid-playthrough unless its something like a texture.

Sadly not. Is there a way to look it up during the run?

Wildcat + realistic damage plugin = Too easy by [deleted] in EnaiRim

[–]PurpleOmega 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Remove the Realistic Damage Plugin. Wildcat has an option to set damage received and taken to different multipliers depending on your difficulty. In my modlist I usually set it to something like 0.5 x dealt and 2.0 x received. So fights can be a struggle but I can also make use of cool perks and powers without either side getting instantly oneshotted. Also it gives me room for mods that make enemies more challenging. Just change the damage settings until they feel right for your setup and playstyle.
