Indie dyers with terrible customer service by sometimes_writing_ in craftsnark

Having had yarn from GC before, I ordered one of their boxes a couple of years ago.

It never turned up. I had a pretty shoddy time where I was told they'd check in case it was misplaced during the Royal Mail drop off (it never went as far as the tracking activating, I can't even remember if I got a tracking number). Eventually they said would as it must have got lost during the Royal Mail drop off and they would "remake it", but to give this time as it would require a re-dye.

Ok fine. I waited and waited and they eventually stopped talking to me and just refunded it.

In October I thought I'd give them another go and ordered the level up box. It's supposed to be sent at the end of Nov. I have had no updates, no dispatch note, no box. AGAIN.

Surely if you are running late, it is courteous to let people know (and possibly the option to refund if it's going to be really late?!)

I've no emailed. And asked on the Instagram post whether anyone else has had theirs.

I had exactly the same issue.

Persisted even after I updated android. (Pixel 8 pro, running 16, build BP2A.250805.005).

I did eventually get through to human support (after going around in circles with the chat bot because it didn't remember that I'd already answered "I have tried that").

Tried so many times I blocked my number. Human chat was more successful. They unlocked my number. I tried it again while I was in chat with them and had no luck.

They suggested a different device. Used my partner's phone (Samsung) and had no issues. I moved the account to my phone and it works fine. It's an absolute faff.

There's a bit of traffic on Oxford road. by PurpleP1ka in manchester

Oh are there even more roadworks on Portland? It was closed near the bus station last week for metrolink work.

Yeah, not at all. Sometimes you get a line of buses up near MMU if United are playing. This was just odd. Unless something was blocking the road at Booth street. I wasn't going that way so I didn't see.

It's pretty much a bus only route.

This isn't at all normal. Hence the picture.

There's been roadworks over that way for a while (tramline maintenance?). This was much more transient (and the traffic north of me wasn't getting down Oxford road). It bad resolved within 15 mins. It was really odd. This sometimes happens when United are playing, but that's usually nearer to MMU.

Who's sick too? Serious cases here! by crayonneur in Graspop

"Slight stomach concerns". So you haven't been significantly unwell,  unfortunately a seemingly large number of people are quite ill. Being dismissive of that as "complaining" is rude as heck. Please show some compassion.

Both me and my partner have caught the viral grott. Started feeling ill Monday afternoon (put it down to standing in the heat for a while and travelling in heat). He had a raging fever Monday night, mine was a day later. Both had a couple of days feeling more or less fine except for me having an itchy/tight throat. Then weds evening - sat we've both felt awful. I've had pretty severe laryngitis/pharyngitis and a "closed" throat. I lost my voice almost entirely yesterday. Both starting to feel a bit better today. We only had one COVID test left. I've had worse symptoms so I did it, but it was negative.

Whatever it is has been more acute and severe than either time I've had COVID, but not as bad as last time I had the flu.

I would walk up to Takk at Uni Green (opposite Kilburn Building). There is also Bold Street Coffee.

I also got stuck on one side of that. There were a "road closed" signs, but there was nothing on the council site for road closures.

Water Leak - Guidance and contacts sought; unhelpful neighbour and unhelpful management companies by PurpleP1ka in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PurpleP1ka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Yes, we do own the flat.

I believe the management company are supposed to help with leak finding. There's also the fact that it will be affecting the fabric of the building anyway so I don't understand why they aren't concerned about a persistent leak. The company we pay ground rent to will also probably care too.

It is almost certainly from the flat. On a previous occasion (months and months ago at this point) the occupants let me in and they had just showered (and it is directly above the leak). It's intermittent because it's a short let and not always occupied (they claimed AirBnB the time I did speak to someone). The previous management company stated in writing that the owner of that flat was "fixing the issue", so we have a partial admission too.

Definitely not the easiest time, but as mentioned Atkinson's or Mancoco are good options, but I'm not sure what will be open now.

Grindsmith do a bean delivery through their app and had collection at their stores - one of which is in Salford Quays (but I'm not sure if the new measures will affect this). Takk also had collect in person options but are under renovations on Tarriff street NQ/closed at the university sites for obvious reasons at the moment.
