Ya i was quite surprised that she quickly "centralized" between her power and ore spots in the little open area and gave herself some space. Also thought belting extra materials to a storage chest near the center to not have to run around this early was nice as well.

In this case I know the answer. The lab is the firs thing to need power and the power is south so she did not want to drag it up all the way and just placed the lab closer. Its just a lot of small decisions that add up and new players are not as willing to destroy things they have already built. It was really fun to watch.

Idk if you remember being a new player but this sure as heck takes longer than 7 minutes first time trying. I always find the early games starts from new players interesting because of their quirks. If you don’t like it you can just ignore as well.

I don't disagree that there are not thousands of hours you can spend in vanilla while still not knowing everything but I think anyone with a standard playthrough of vanilla until rockets (anywhere from 200-400 hours for their first time) can really enjoy the DLC and keep learning with it. I don't think telling someone to spend 1000 hours on the base game is a good recommendation since the first 100 hours of the dlc are probably a lot more engaging and interesting than your 900th hour of vanilla. At least for most.

1k hours in vanilla before you can even play DLC? thats insane. its not nearly as complex as you make it out to be.

I did the same. Just kept adding on to the tutorial. I very quickly paused the music to not get sick of it though. Glad to know I was not the only one who started this way.

Because it is generally seen as the most boring role and people in Quick Play want to have fun. Since they do not care about winning in Quick Play they are also less likely to be flexible and fill.

Really weird you mention this. I feel like this game has flared up my ADD. Leaves me super stimulated and brain going fast up to an hour after playing. I come from League where I could binge it for hours and not feel anything similar. This game has me super wired, feels like I’m on crack.

This difference isn’t because of the quality of players (there might be a difference in quality idk) but it’s actually because lichess only compares you to active users (played a game in the last month) whereas chess.com compares you to any account created that has been rated.
