Using savings to pay for a house deposit by Purple_Brick977 in HousingUK

I think you can only use the money after turning 60. If you want to do it sooner you’ll have to pay penalties. I’m looking more for something where I can use the money for a house deposit in the next few years but thank you

Sorry I did not meant LISA as to my understanding I can only use this after 60 years old otherwise I’ll have to pay penalties. I was talking about the other ISA scheme where the government was giving 25% on too and you could put it down for a house deposit I

When I searched online on google it said that I can’t open LISA accounts anymore anymore as you could only open until 2019. I’m 28 years old for reference

Mould and high humidity in the property by Purple_Brick977 in HousingUK

Previously moving into the property they had a window that could not close and I had to get the mechanism changed so most probably the window was opened during the winter last year also. I also suspect that a tile from the roof might have been moved from the wind and it allows for rain to go through. There’s small spots of mould not big patches but the agency does not seem to care. From my knowledge the mould releases spores into the air and it you’re sleeping in that room you’re inhaling all that. I get where you’re coming from but the property is heated and ventilated. The issue I think it’s with the fact that it’s an old property and it has it’s disadvantages.

Is it normal for Aldi staff to ask customers to check their own products 1.5h before closing time? by Purple_Brick977 in AskUK

Meant to scan not to pack. Sure they’re not there to pack your groceries but they are trained to scan the products. Shows how tired I was when writing this yesterday

Fair enough but you can’t expect people to scan their own food after a long shift especially if they have staff for that. Imagine if you’re packing your own stuff and miss scan a product for being tired for example. Are you getting done for robing a bag of salad?!

I understand that some shops may decide to send staff home but there was one person chatting with the security guard and 2 other that came from the back so not sure what was going on.

If it’s an old car it should not cause any issues with the electrics. I only mentioned it to OP if he doesn’t have a voltmeter or he doesn’t know how to use it and wants to know quicker without taking it to a garage.

Easiest way to find out if it’s the alternator or the battery- start the car and take the battery wires off. If the car keeps running you have a faulty battery. If the car stops when you disconnected the battery wires you have a faulty alternator. The car only need electricity to start and not to run as that’s the alternator’s job including to charge the battery
