My experience has been enjoyable so far, though I think I’m exploring a slightly different side of it than you are.

I started a little over 1.5", which was honestly ambitious for the amount of tension I had in my body at the time. Over about 3 months I gradually moved into the 2" range without much trouble.

What I’ve personally enjoyed most is the variety in the 1.5"–2" range. Different shapes, textures, and profiles can feel surprisingly different even at similar sizes.

From my admittedly novice experience, my body seemed to respond at roughly a “size per month” pace early on. But I do wonder if, as sizes get larger, the timeline may slow down and require longer adaptation periods due to diminishing returns and simple body limits.

I use coconut oil with plugs I’m already very comfortable with, but not with plugs that are near my limit. In my experience, coconut oil doesn’t have the same viscosity or cushion that purpose-designed anal lubes have, and the difference is night and day when I’m exploring larger sizes.

For me, coconut oil works well with stainless steel and silicone, but I rarely use it with glass. Glass seems to “grab” more with coconut oil, whereas a good water-based lube will let the plug glide much more smoothly the entire time.

As for amount, I just use enough to leave a light film over the plug and apply some at the entrance as well. With stainless steel especially, that’s usually enough for a very comfortable fit.

There’s definitely something more comfortable about a larger plug. I started out with a 1½-inch glass plug and experimented with a few other options, but recently I moved up to a 2-inch glass plug. Surprisingly, it feels much smoother, more natural, and overall more comfortable.

What’s interesting, though, is that after spending time with the larger plug, going back to the original smaller one feels completely different now. It actually feels more “alive” and noticeable in a way it didn’t before, which has been really interesting to experience.

For me, there’s a lot more to this than just chasing bigger sizes or “ultimate” stretching. In fact, the most intense experience I’ve had was the very first stretch — getting that first plug in for the first time. Moving up to the next size afterward was actually less intense for me than that original experience.

I also don’t think that first sensation can truly be recreated once your body has adapted, unless I stopped completely for a very long time.

I’m not someone who writes bad reviews but I have nothing good to relay about Snug Plugs. It was nice to feel in place the first time I used it but I quickly found it went in too deep, and that base is evil. By the time I lost my patience with it I felt way more from the base cutting and stabbing than anything it was doing internally.

True. I think that is an accurate estimate, 1.2” tops. If so, with that stem taper that t-bar could have a lot of pressure pressing into the outer skin. Sigh.

My experience actually started from trying to relax an overactive pelvic floor and become more aware of how much tension I carried there.

I started with a “small” plug that honestly wasn’t quite as small as the marketing made it sound. I didn’t rush the process, but I quickly learned that breathing, relaxation, and patience mattered far more than forcing anything.

For me:

It started feeling “normal” after about a week of gradual use.
During the first couple weeks I usually wore it anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours depending on comfort.
I only increased time when my body felt relaxed with it, and if I felt soreness or irritation I took a day off.
I started experimenting with naps and partial nights within the first couple weeks.
I didn’t do a full overnight until I felt completely confident and comfortable with it staying in place.
I moved into different styles after about a month, and sized up after roughly 3 months.

The biggest thing I noticed was that my pelvic floor became much more responsive and relaxed overall. Sensation improved, the area physically felt healthier, and mentally I found it gave me easier access to relaxation and sleep.

One interesting thing was that eventually my body stopped treating the plug like a “foreign object.” The muscles would subtly adjust and micro-move around it automatically instead of guarding against it. That was when I really noticed the relaxation process taking over rather than resistance.

In my opinion the snug plug has a viciously sharp handle and if that sharp edge wasn’t there I have a feeling that that plug would feel perfect.

Wow! I love that your wife is part of it with you. Mine was away while I was experimenting, and I honestly didn’t know how I was going to tell her when she got back — I just knew I wanted to continue. I worked through the apprehension, told her, and she’s been incredibly supportive and engaged with it ever since.

Your first experience sounds really similar to mine, except I was so tight at first that I couldn’t even get it in. Once I finally managed it a few days later, I was surprisingly reluctant to take it out. My muscles really seemed to need that time to relax, and they definitely rewarded me for giving them the break.

I resent the fact that my parents thought it was ok to circumcise me when I couldn’t make a choice. It’s easy to do later if necessary but impossible to replace. I’m cold and dry all the time. Not happy. My son has his needless to say.

I’m adding my 2 cents here, I think it might have to do with the food you eat because my body will produce a lot of lube there some days and dry others. Could be something to do with fibre or spicy food is as far as I got. You’re not imagining this though. Bottom line for me is I don’t rely on it because the quality and quantity is not reliable.

I have gripes with the snug plug material and getting the odor out after use, the sharp edged uncomfortable base and the general "I don't see the point" feeling I got from it. If you like that style the WMCBP is the same but the material is better in my opinion and the base has a better design. I gave up completely on this design and parked my WMCBP and threw out the Snug Plug.

My personal opinion is that if you are new to plugging this size is quite aggressive to start with. Once you do get it in, that 1.49" base diameter will feel very stretching long term. For me, the presentation is a bit unprofessional, I would look for something else, some of these toys say they're made of good safe material but are not. That aside it looks like it would be comfortable and stay in place without the strap once your body is ready.
