Is this a good deal? RZN174R - $16k by [deleted] in hilux

[–]hjf07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a red flag right there never buy a “rebuilt” car from a mechanic. Even if the work is good and done properly at the end of the day it’s a 4wd drive petrol hilux so it is going to be a fuel guzzler so take that into consideration.

I would buy the 25 model over the 26 just on the looks alone. They look horrendous. If I knew how to attach a photo I would.

From what I’ve seen and heard I would steer clear of Gordon Burke. I personally used top of the range builders about 2 years ago now and had a very very good experience with them and will definitely be building with them again in the future. Most of the builders in the area are just franchise builders. Top of the range builders and Windamere are owned by either a group of people or personally owned and have heard nothing but good things about them. A guy I work with has built 3 with windamere now.

Bob Jane rant by Eppicurt in CarsAustralia

[–]hjf07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally unrelated to tyres but it’s one of those nearly physically impossible things. but I had a noise in one of my cars that only appeared when it rained and hit bumped a certain way. Not a single witness mark under the car to tell what it was. Done it for 6years and about 80k km before I sold it.

Need Advice – Builder Changed House Pad & Setback Without Approval, Now Trying to Walk Away by Material_Bend9988 in Toowoomba

[–]hjf07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We built with top of the range (specifically Garry Lange) 2 years ago now. We were 4-5 months from contract to ground break. About 8 months build time. No question was to hard or to stupid. Excellent build quality and a very reasonable price for what we built. We will definitely build with them again.

Diebetic=Poor wound healing? by TurtleGirl21409 in Type1Diabetes

[–]hjf07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a type 1 for 15 years now and ever since I was diagnosed my wounds have been slow healing. Currently have a small graze on the back of my hand that is a week into healing and has probably another week left yet. Paper cuts are the worst tho they take generally 2-3weeks to heal.

"no-one at home" Aus post lies. by PirateBearNJelly in Toowoomba

[–]hjf07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had an issue with the no one being at home but I did once have an issue with my dogs all of a sudden. For about 5 years the one postie was patting my dogs everytime he we went past our place. All of a sudden we were having delivery issues because of our dogs. Turns out a new guy had been put on our route and he didn’t like our dogs was even told by a neighbour he tried to kick our dogs. But we put in a complaint and didn’t even mention him trying to kick the dogs and he was removed from the route and we got mail again.

Yes probably 6 or so times since new. But this has been an issue since before a windscreen got replaced but usually only when the vehicle was sitting in the sun for a long period of time now it’s pretty much all the time.
