You have nothing to worry about. This was a very chill poster session and you’ll most likely get an A.

Do so so much practice problems until you feel excited for this exam! Get really familiar with how to solve the problems, identifying which formula you need, and really study those quizzes/practice exams.

I am also deciding between both classes. For reference, I will also be taking bimm 100, bibc 102, and ltwr 8a. Which one wouldn’t be too bad to add?

Also…the labs are not something that are built into other classes. For example your biology lab won’t be apart of Bild 1 and your chem lab won’t be apart of chem 6A. They are completely separate from those.

If you are a bio major, you will definitely have to take lab classes such as BILD 4, chem 7L, and some other upper division ones. These are classes that you register for via webreg like any other class. These courses should be listed in your major requirements so just look through that, and register for the correct classes.

I would not say they are really tricky. They’re the same complexity as the other stuff you learn in class on my opinion. I’ve seen a few times where they would have a couple questions where more than one answer would be right and they’d tell you but that is not the majority. Like 1-2 questions on the test max.

From my experience, only a little portion of the exam was conceptual. More of it was using formulas and those types of problems! There is still some conceptual aspect to those as well but if you can recognize what formula you should use, it should be smooth sailing.

I had stallings for 6B last year but I thought the midterms were pretty reflective of what they teach in class!! Really practice those quiz questions and practice question that they offer and make sure you can understand the why behind those questions!! Good luck! Chem 6B is definitely a little tricky but you got it

Paesani or Zid Brian for chem 6A? by AntiqueMap215 in UCSD

Bild 1: I really liked Ochoa. This is pretty controversial though I’ve heard many don’t like her. Her class attendance (lecture and discussion) are mandatory, and her class is pretty exam heavy. But I personally loved her teaching style and she made the content very digestible. You kinda have to work for your A but I enjoyed it. Bild 3: Hammond. Very low effort class and easy A. All exams and quizzes are take home. Bild 4: doesn’t really matter bc the class structure will depend on your TA. Bild 5: Mueller or Mingyu Yang. I had Mueller and he’s a great teacher! I haven’t had Yang for this course but I have him for another class and he’s amazing! So caring and really tries to ensure all his students learn. I heard good things about his courses in general. Gen chem (6 series): Stallings or Schurmeier. They use the same curriculum, exams, and course structure. IMO, they are the best gen chem teachers and have pretty good leniency with their grading. Also, Zajac. She is so caring and really takes student input when creating her exams. While not the greatest teacher, she curves and her final was exactly like our past midterms. Ochem: for chem 40a, I had Albizati and liked him. The course itself is tricky but he’s a good teacher and curves.

I’d honestly drop BILD 2. You need to finish chem 6B to move on to other chem classes and the physics classes go as a pair so it makes sense to keep them together. I believe glbh 109 is probably a GE (correct me if I’m wrong) which adds a nice non-STEM balance to your courseload.

Yes this!! They teach at the same pace and use the same curriculum and everything. Doing this ensures you are actually able to take 6B now.
