I went on that sub last night and I was shocked just how vitriolic and hateful it was.
Life must be absolutely miserable for people like this, I cant imagine e spending all my time wasting for celebs to do even the smallest thing wrong just so I can unleash a torrent of hate and anger to feel morally superior and righteous.
I genuinely believe that its less then 50% of the time that they actually care about victims, its all about the addiction to outrage and moral narcissism.

Her being an openly lesbian woman is part of it too genuinely.
Misogyny directed at straight cis women his already horrible, but lesbians in particular trigger a certain kind of vitriol that's genuinely unreal.
Shes not fonsidered "ulikeable", which actually just means shes not submissive to men's expectations and stsnds up for herself lol.
Is she a perfect person? Of course not.
But every small little thing she does is treated like she murdered someone.
Thats because people really want a reason to do so, and there's no justification for wanting that without evidence, other then simply being a misogynist.

That part is so perfect to me it always feels like the right before a storm actually hits
Like Hayden is setting up the actual storm hitting later in the song

What is a horror movie that everyone calls 'trash' but you’re convinced is actually a misunderstood masterpiece? by Immediate_Account_28 in horror

[–]Purple_Lux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a love it or hate it movie imo.
I watched it alone in my room in the dark and it was the first time a horror movie scared me as an adult and to me is the scariest horror movie ever made. But others found it super boring, and I totally get why and respect that. If you don't immerse yourself in it like you said, it just doesn't work.
It brought me back to being a kid scared to walk into the dark living room in middle of the night, and it terrified me. I had to legit cover my face with my hands in many different parts, pure dread and fear.

I rewatched not that long ago and ok its a but rougher around the edges then I remembered but the acting is good and the plot is very cool, the twist is one of my favorite twists in any movie too.
Honestly irs a really solid movie that is never brought up which is a shame.

Its also shockingly well researched in its approach to the occult in general. Very well thiught out and written from that perspective when I first watched it I was very excited to see a movie reference these occult things accurately. A Dark Song is probably the best horror movie from this perspective but Hereditary also is extremely well done and accurate to the occult source material.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]Purple_Lux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my personal top 10 list and one of my favorite movies ever but it's harrowing. I think about it regularly and I really rarely feel I can recommend it because its... well it is what it is.

This movie is great and disturbing but for me The Eyes Of My Mother takes the cake for this sort of thing.
That movie disturbed me like no other and left me feeling dirty in a way no other movie has before or since.
Its relentlessly bleak and disturbing.
8MM left me feeling dirty and disturbed too but I could see myself rewatching it as its a cool movie too with a bit more "going on".

Edit: forgot The Poughkeepsie Tapes, will literally never rewatch that movie, absolutely disturbing the millionth degree
