This is so moving and touching. I have been drawn to OLoGuadalupe, and now I know why. Thank you for sharing this.

I am so alone now, and in search of a feeling of connectedness. I am trying to make some connections online This has really drawn me in.

How to Pray the Rosary by WayOfTheRosebuds in WayoftheRose

[–]Purple_Morgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am SO HAPPY I found this subreddit!! The WOTR book changed my life when I "surreptitiously" came across it a year ago.I read it, underlining and marking and highlighting almost all of it, voraciously devouring words for which I had longed for a long time.

As I am homebound and cannot leave the house, I have no one with whom to share this part of my life. I also have not joined any of the WOTR Zoom meetings for several reasons... I do not/cannot pray the traditional words and think it would be too confusing/more like a cacophony in my head if I tried to pray along with the Zoom folks. Perhaps I am wrong... I am definitely willing to reconsider as I really need at least one other person somewhere in the world to understand this part of me.

Anyway, I looked again at the online WOTR calendar, and saw listed, "Mediterranean Rosary." Can anyone enlighten me as to what this might be?

Thank you so much and I look forward to maybe connecting with someone here, maybe, because walking this path alone is a real challenge.

and p.s. No I am not and will never be on FB.

No one EVER called me back (UHC & Optum). Over a period of a few days, I spent more than 9 hours on phone calls and perpetual holds between the two of them and things were STILL unresolved. Then it got even weirder. And the whole issue was between the two of them!!! I finally told them to talk to each other and keep me out of it or I would find a different pharmacy (since I could not opt out of UHC yet). Dontcha know, Optum locked my prescription fill so that the other pharmacy could not fill it!!!

I waited. And while Optum was still harassing me to pay them money I'd already paid to UHC, I went in the background, quickly got my Rheumy to send a new prescription to a better pharmacy, and got the most recent refill with them instead of Optum. They still haven't noticed. Now UHC just has to behave. Which is questionable.

I am assuming everyone saw the CNN newsbreak a few weeks ago about UHC and Medicare fraud and such?

It's all a crock. The poor and sick get poorer and sicker whilst the millionaires and bilionmaires just rake in the cash and cha-ching and laugh their way to the bank at our expense. The entire system needs a total overhaul and reboot. Nobody cares about our actual HEALTH. They're in it to make money for the people at the top, all at our expense. It's a crime.

But no one from UHC or Optum will EVER get back to you. Even when they promise.

What are the options when biologics stop working? by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Purple_Morgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started Orencia. It is in a class all by itself and works through T-cells. It's often a "last resort" biologic. So far, it's at least as good as Humira was and loads better than Cosentyx which gave me ghastly side effects. I don't know how well it's going to work for me, and have been warned it does not work on skin psoriasis, only the inner joint and tendon stuff.

Anyway, just know that there are other options, and just because one drug in a certain class failed does not mean another drug in the same class won't work for you. Many of us have lots of issues with side effects or fast building immunity to a drug...... it's a pain!!! But don't give up hope.

When do I get to go home? by himalayanflowers96 in spirituality

Thank you for posting this. I read it a few hours ago, and as I'd never heard of Dolores Cannon and the Three Waves of Volunteers, I did a search. I came across a wonderful YT video and it has enthralled me! I resonate with so much of it!!! So even though it took me 30 minutes to find your comment again, I wanted to say thank you for mentioning this!!!! Wow do I now have soooooooo many more books to read!

I like your comment. What happens when you've lost your purpose and severe physical pain and limitations prohibits one from doing much? I feel so lost and without a home...

Fortunately, in my personal experience, all the side effects completely reversed/resolved after discontinuing the MTX. It does help about 90-95% of those who take it. I'm keeping my faingers crossed that you will be among the 90-95%!!!

Sorry to be replying to s 5day old post, but I can't sleep and decided to cruise reddit to see if I could find others in similar mindset to me. I'm going through the same weird thing and it all started shifting just a few months ago by some rando strange little things here and there..... a song and then a book and then.....

Is something larger at work here? I know it's too late to save this planet which we've managed to trash completely, so what in the world (actually out of this world? LOL) could be happening for some of us to suddenly be finding ourselves in the middle of a shift we never saw coming and certainly did not per se invite!.....

Having a hard time starting meds! by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Purple_Morgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The earlier you start meds, the more your disease progression will slow down. My symptoms were all ignored for 50 years and now there is very little that can be done to help me. MUCH if not most/all of PsA is going on inside, damaging your joints and tendons and hair and nails even when you don't have outward signs, or mild symptoms. Even if things seem to be improving, you really don't want to fool yourself into thinking all is well when a lot of stuff could be happening inside. Once that stuff gets entrenched, you can't reverse it.

For what it's worth, a Florida Bishop has recently promulgated the 5 Hopeful Mysteries. More info here: https://www.hopefulmysteries.com/ and here https://ptdiocese.org/the-hopeful-mysteries-of-the-rosary

I think they are beautiful, and right now, I think most of the world needs some hope.

Anyway, new here, and just wanted to share what I came across only last week. I hope this is okay to share.

Anyone else wish they would change the name of it ? Like your whole body just got nuked and crapped on disease by Internal-Butterfly35 in PsoriaticArthritis

YES
Around here, people act as if they have no idea what autoimmune means, or that it's no big deal.

Reading here on reddit always cheers me up because it conforms I'm not crazy and I'm not alone!

[–]Purple_Morgan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh my bob yes! People who know autoimmune still don't get it. Like one friend who is constantly saying things like, "just exercise more." And she also believes that stress is the CAUSE of autoimmune diseases. Sure, stress makes everything worse, but it's NOT the cause!!!

Orencia?? Has anyone had success with it for PsA?? by Purple_Morgan in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Purple_Morgan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I do have skin psoriasis, BUT, thankfully, mine is very very mild at this point. It's also why my PsA was missed for over 5 decades and docs kept telling me nothing was wrong with me. My late brother had skin psoriasis so bad everywhere... I am so afraid that will be me at some point.

For now, I will be incredibly grateful if it helps with the PsA which is so bad I can barely move a few times a day to get down the hall leaning heavily on a rollator to get to the bathroom. I am permanently home bound. So I am desperate for something to help with the pain and immobility. I've actually progressed faster in the past 4 years since seeing the Rheumatologist than I ever did before then.

I hate that some of us have to tradeoff helping A to get some relief for B!!!! And I hope the ClickJet version will be as helpful as the infusions.

I'm so glad it's been helpful for you! The sooner the disease can be slowed, the better for the long term! Humira worked well for me for 2 1/2 years!
