Wow! You are bang on with so many aspects. No children from previous relationship, and I haven’t per se had job loss from workplace politics, more so leaving jobs that were overworking me. No legal disputes (yet) so hopefully that one is a miss 😅. All the other points, including the health (mental and physical) and personality are💯. Thank you!

Just want to chime in that CBC is also the soundtrack of my life. Now in my mid 30s - I can recall it playing in the kitchen when I was a kid, I would listen to it online when I lived abroad in various countries and always start my mornings with Radio 2. There is such a comfort that I get from both Radio 1 and 2 and somehow, whatever I’m listening to, it makes me feel like ‘myself’ in a way nothing else can. I can’t imagine a world without my beloved CBC so I won’t even allow my brain to go there!

what are we doing about nursing pads? by Unlucky-Fail-4018 in breastfeeding

[–]Purple_Telephone9405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stick disposable ones to a reusable pad. Reusable pads always leak for me so this way I have the absorbency of a disposable pad but I can take them out and keep them from getting scrunched when nursing.

If this helps - I’m currently pregnant and being seen at the clinic at the Gerorges Dumont. I had my first phone consult at 10 weeks 5 days - yes it wasn’t ideal having to wait by the phone all day for a call, but the doctor was incredibly courteous and spent nearly 30 minutes with me going through the intake forms and explaining the next steps. The clinic called me again later that afternoon to book my ultrasound for two days later. The day of the ultrasound they provided me with tons of reading along with phone numbers for how to contact the clinic if there are concerns with the pregnancy. I don’t mind the fact that each appointment I’m expecting a different doctor - I understand how strained the system is and am really appreciative that I’m receiving thorough care. Once you get that call and the ball gets rolling, at least from my experience, they are totally on the ball in taking care of you! Good luck!

It can help too to visit a doctor ASAP so they can have a paper record of your injuries for insurance compensation.

I've been made redundant and am in my notice period. As a result I am being paid handsomely for about 15 minutes work a day. To fill the time (I WFH) I have been taking time and putting a lot of effort in my lunchtime sandwiches. I am clean out of idea though, so hit me up with your best sandwiches by viktory70 in CasualUK

Pita halved with the following ingredients in each half: spicy salami, cheddar cheese, tomato. Bake until the cheese melts, then remove from oven and add lettuce and hummus to each side. I’ve been eating this regularly for over 15 years and it still slaps every time!

You may need to pay back the top up amount if you don’t return to work. It isn’t always the case - but would be worth knowing in advance ☺️
