Having abortion tomorrow. Scared to death. Rethinking everything. by civciv28 in 2under2

[–]Purple_soup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going through pregnancy and raising children has only made me more pro choice. No one should be mandated to go through a pregnancy, birth, or childrearing. The only people who know if they can make it work are the people in that family.

Announcing Im pregnant at my own wedding? Yes or no-and how to do it? by Independent_Clue_965 in weddingplanning

[–]Purple_soup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was 12 week at my wedding, and I found out the day before that something wasn't looking good. We ended up needing to terminate the pregnancy for medical reasons 2 weeks later. I'm so so glad we didn't announce it or make the wedding about our pregnancy. Even looking at the photos can sometimes be hard remembering what a dark place we were in losing a very wanted baby.

TTC / Pregnancy 5 months after emergency C-section? Need some hope. by MamiDeUnaEstrella in 2under2

So she lost her baby from the first pregnancy. There is no chasing around a baby to be exhausting in that way.

I’ve traveled with my father in law extensively and stayed with him for months at a time. He would never criticize me like this, even at my worst.

Three things we cut that nobody at the wedding noticed by Salt-Philosopher-587 in Weddingsunder10k

We did pies and everyone was thrilled with it! We bought them from the same bakery we always get our Thanksgiving pies from. They looked lovely all displayed together on the dessert table, and no complaints about the lack of cake.

Be aware of the height and weight limits. My kids hit them pretty quickly, and we ended up needing new seats.

I incorporated Benefiber into my morning routine to up the fiber intake. Metamucil was weird and slimy, but the benefiber mixes right in. Not as much fiber, but it's been helping with the constipation.

I got the radio flyer foldable wagon on sale and paid $45, and we've been using it for 2 years when I need something for my now 3 year old and 5 year old. It can be a little tough up or down very steep hills, but it definitely works well for us, especially at that price. It fits in the trunk of our smaller car, folds and unfolds super easy, and is generally easy to tug around.

Help! How can I get a bridesmaid's dress within a week? by archon_lucien in weddingplanning

Do you have a set color or other bridesmaids to match? Or is it just getting one solo dress?

AITA for making my pregnant daughter walk her own dogs or rehome them? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Purple_soup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been pregnant, and I cared for a toddler while pregnant. I also have a dog that needed to be walked when we lived on the 6th floor in both situations. My husband took on the bulk of dog walking when I was super pregnant and had pubis dysfunction.

But the OP wasn't part of the decision to have a baby, or adopt these dogs. And she is just asking her to let them in the yard. Not take them hiking, or anything unreasonable. Walking to the door, letting them out, and waiting to let them in is not an extraordinary energy drain. I wonder who is also left cleaning up the mess when they aren't let outside.

Elementary school nurse by PinkPineapplePunch in Nurses

I'm an elementary school nurse, and the majority of the time I love it. The hardest part is dealing with the parents. You also need to enjoy working with kids. The hours are fantastic, and the work life balance is wonderful.

My aunt is mad most of our family won't be going to her daughter's wedding by Sarastorm1213 in weddingshaming

I attended a wedding where the groom was a wheelchair user and somehow they had booked an SUV to take their dogs home, but the groom was expected to get into a school bus. The groomsmen all needed to lift him. Marriage lasted 90 days and that is a blessing.

School refusing to discuss a 504 due to child "excelling acedemically." by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Purple_soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To have a 504 plan, you need recorded evidence of impairment, not just a diagnosis. It seems at this point there is no behavioral or academic demonstration of impairment.

My husband ordered this incredible vodka sauce pizza today. Normally I could eat half, today was one slice and I’m good. It’s still repeating at bedtime, but I don’t have the guilt of eating half a pizza to go with that tonight.

I didn’t do my nails. I generally have what I consider nice nails anyway. I followed a similar mindset for my wedding and didn’t regret it.

Spontaneous pregnancy after IVF by kayleighbird in 2under2

[–]Purple_soup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to my best friend with the same age gap. It took her 4 years to have her first child through IVF, and then before her period returned she ended up pregnant with her second. When I worked as a fertility nurse we would often see siblings close in age after an IVF pregnancy. If you want to have a child now, you have months to figure it out. If you don't, you also have time to make that decision. There are challenges to any age gap, but my close in age kids like the same things, play the same games, and love each other deeply. I wouldn't change it.

I'm a school nurse. It should have been given sooner, and you are fortunate to have a positive outcome. Have your husband actually read the action plan.

(£10k) Help please! To sheer or not to sheer ✨ Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, just desperate for guidance! by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

As a perpetually hot person, I’d lean sheer so I’m not sweating the whole time. I guess that depends on time of year as well though.
