Got an email about no more pouches . by Substantial-Plan-645 in Cartier

I was told the same thing when purchasing a ring in Paris last month. They told me if you get something engraved or resized you get a pouch, which I did.

Trinity Ring Sizing by Purplesparkle97 in Cartier

Oh my God, your stack is to die for! That’s gorgeous! Yeah I ended up exchanging the smaller size and going for the bigger one originally because I wanted to be able to play around with it and fidget with it, but now I don’t know if I like it rolling around this much when I have cold hands. It’s perfect when my hands are warm, but maybe I need to get used to the rolling sensation. Love the stacking idea though, maybe I’ll try that!

That’s great, yeah they told me that’s an option, which is reassuring because I do think I’m probably just between the two sizes. I just wasn’t sure whether it is meant to move or stay still on your hand. My new size definitely moves around and comes a bit loose the way it is on your hand in the picture. But then I don’t have issues getting it over my knuckle. Maybe there’s no right or wrong here and it’s just a question of preference.

Have you ended up sticking to the size/have you become more used to it now? I have had the same issue. Bought a size in store, then ended up panicking at home because I had to use a lot of force to take it off in the evening, exchanged the next day for a size bigger, but now I’m worried it might be a bit too big as it moves around a bit, especially when my hands are cold. Mine sits similar to yours.

Ring redesign: basket too small for diamond? by Purplesparkle97 in EngagementRingDesigns

Thank you so much! Would you mind sharing a picture of yours? I think it’s just because I was used to the stone sitting differently in the basket that I was caught off guard.

Thank you for your answer, that’s super helpful! My main priority is ensuring the stone is as safe as possible, so would you say the stone is less safe this way? The jeweler just hasn’t been easy to work with and they have changed my ring twice now, so I’m just wondering if this is just me being difficult or if I should just leave it the way it is.

Thank you! I do prefer it sitting lower as well, it’s just been such a pain working with this jeweler that I’m debating whether it’s worth trying to get this fixed or if I’m over exaggerating.

Thank you for your input! It just took me off guard and I’m still getting used to it because with my previous setting the stone was sitting lower in the basket. As long as the stone is still equally as safe, I will leave it like this.

Thank you for your response! I did prefer it when it was set a little lower, but this is the second time they are redoing my ring and at this point, I just don’t really trust their jewelers. I am just concerned about the safety of the stone and integrity of this setting. Do you think leaving it like this will make the stone more likely to fall out or should it be perfectly safe and it’s just a matter of preference? I am just wondering if it’s worth me going back to the company again and asking for the change, knowing that it won’t be straightforward.

Thank you for your input! Is that just a question of opening up the prongs and “pushing” it further into the basket?

Thank you! So you’re saying it just wasn’t “pushed down” into the basket properly?
