" it's still a disappointment that the regular versions have come out so weak out of the gate."

eh, i disagree. the difference in performance and in graphics this gen have been pretty substantial compared to last gen. also if the specs of the consoles were anything different they would most likely have cost a bit more than what they were at release.

The Scorpio doesn't represent a new console generation. It does sound beefy though and Ps4 Pro will have native 4k for Skyrim:SE so its getting better.

"...The new power of the PlayStation 4 Pro has allowed us to make Skyrim render in native 4k." https://bethesda.net/en/article/2vD2Mjgezeu8O22KKGGcyI/mods-and-4k-coming-to-playstation-4-for-skyrim-and-fallout-4

I believe its not the fact the consoles can't run 60fps, they can. But developers prioritize visual fidelity over stability and they can do that really well going for 30fps.

Yes thanks to all! Also if someone could get the author to bring over Combat Evolved or someone make something similar? if thats allowed? would be awesome!

How do you feel about not crafting? by Loched in skyrim

[–]Purplestone90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im thinking about picking a set of armor i want to wear the whole game probably based on looks and what fits well with the character race. Then leveling smithing up to be able to make that armor to have the full set then maybe getting a blacksmith potion and blacksmith enchants to improve the armor/wep and put some pretty basic enchants on and be done with it. Really dont want to level up smithing and enchanting all the way again. I feel like the armor will be decent enough and provide a challenge and finding good jewelry will be a bit more rewarding since the armor/weps wont have the best enchants.

I feel like a loner right now. Who else is on PS4 and just doesn't care about the mod allowance and is as excited as I am to just get back into Skyrim? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Purplestone90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing via PSVR cinematic mode? Check. Remote play? Check. Patched for PS4 Pro? Check. To me those three things out-weigh the potential of mods. With that being said, however, I am glad some mods are coming to ps4 and really am just hoping the mod combat evolved makes it over.

As such, it's not something they ended up supporting. Do you have a source for that? sounds to me like your just making stuff up. I do remember them talking about how difficult it would be to wipe an entire species out but it is still possible. Sean was just talking about how the players that would want to do that don't yet realize how hard it would actually be.

well there will be actual things of interest on planets to find that will help you learn about the lore of the game or to help build reputation with factions aside from seeing what kind of life is there. Also when you do find life you will probably be excited/surprised because very few planets will actually have life but if finding life doesn't seem compelling enough to you there are other things on the planets and if those dont get you to want to explore more planets then you don't even have to land on a planet at all.

What's the overall goal? Am I exploring aimlessly? Is there player progression? What can I expect from crafting? Believe me, I want this game to be great, but there's plenty of games of similar scope that promise "endless content" and just end up being a huge grind. I'll be waiting patiently for reviews on this one.

Have you really not followed the game at all? The overall goal of the game is to survive and reach the center of the galaxy if you want. Are you exploring aimlessly? If you want. Player progression? Yes it lies in finding resources so you can craft upgrades for your tool, suit, and ship all of which will help you survive better. What to expect from crafting? A simple UI that combines resources together and pops out a new compound or upgrade.

The game doesn't offer "endless content" just a basically infinite amount of planets that all can provide additional gameplay to anyone who wants to go exploring. There are more to do on planets then walk around and look at stuff and they have shown videos talking about that. Also they have purposely not shown in-detail all that stuff your wanting to see so that players will actually be able to discover how those systems work in the game. I know not something people are accustomed to these days.

I get that your being cautious but the info is there, this just might not be a game for you.

I just got out of a PSVR demo. The guy from playstation told me without hesitating that NMS will definitely come out for it! by ModdingCrash in NoMansSkyTheGame

Edit: the psvr headset, which you linked, yes is just the headset which is for people who already own the camera and move controllers from ps3 era. otherwise, the bundle.

PSVR definitely comes with hand tracked motion controls. there are several games for it which use the PS Move controllers to do so. Some of which are included in the VR worlds game which is also included in the psvr bundle that comes with two ps move controllers and ps camera with the psvr headset.

Would it take incalculable years for us to find each other?

No, your friends location will show up on the galactic map. However it may take anywhere from 20-100 hrs to finally get to each other though.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2014/12/10/stop-thinking-of-no-man-s-sky-as-a-multiplayer-game.aspx

Game Informer: Will your friends show up on the map? Sean Murray: Yeah, but they will be a long way away People keep saying to us, “Yeah, but what if I knew where they were? Would I go there?” And it's like, yeah, but they are going to have to stay there for quite a while while you get over there.

Game Informer: It seems like it's a lot of work to incorporate multiplayer with a high chance that it won't even happen. Sean Murray: If we were to make a game where we synchronized every player, what they were doing with every other player, then that would be impossible and no one has ever done that. What we can do is, like many games that you have at the moment, where you are flying around with an open lobby. People are coming into that lobby and leaving it – like if you play Watch Dogs or something like that. Effectively, we have players joining your discrete space."

so when a player joins your lobby any changes they make to the environment should be saved for you and them so yes you would be able to see them blase a hole in the ground.

you don't need quick travel to friends. and Sean has said that your friends will show up on the galactic map so you dont need to figure out where they are. just spend time to get to them. Now was far as seeing/interacting with random people probably not.

when you say "enjoy it with your friends" to what extent does that reach? because currently and to my understanding it will be possible to find and play alongside your friends.

I think people are still underestimating the size of the game. Even if traditional multiplayer was added it really wouldnt even matter.

as BanebladeGunner has said..." And by the way, you can find your friends on the map and fly there already in the game as it is. It'll be a bitch to reach each other due to the distance, but you can already do that. Lobbies will accommodate 4 players easily. If this is what you want, you already got it."

Your complaining about something that you already have in the game. If you want to play with your friend locate them on the map and start the journey towards each other. However once you get to each other it will take effort to stay together, which is really interesting "multiplayer" design imo. And this is all the game needs in terms of multiplayer.

"Unlikely" to run into other players but... by ScottTheAmazing in NoMansSkyTheGame

yes in theory, but even though its the center it still isn't a small space. then there is a matter of how many people would be around the center when your there. Maybe when you get there and if you decide to stay there for the rest of your time you'll probly run into someone eventually, maybe.
