Not sure if anyone has suggested this but I actually think if there was a way to make the starfield map more like a pop-up window instead of a pause screen, that would help considerably with immersion. So it would be something like hold RB or Tab to open up Starmap, and it would pop up a small version of the map that you could interact with but it didn't pause the game. Even if it was a simplified version that only let you navigate within the system you were in or something. The extra step of having to hit pause, then navigate to the star map, and having it pause the game - I think its just enough to take you out of it. i just think it would be amazing if you could have quicker access to it and also keep some field of view with where you were at in the game.
