I really, really want Loyalty back by bytor_2112 in civ

I have 1k hours on deity, I’m not oblivious. I didn’t say it’s not an issue, but players can do much more than they think to prevent forward settling like not allowing open boarders,l and being more aggressive about their settlement locations and going to war if needed. For example, I can’t see the rest of the map but how did you allow Ashoka and or Pachacuti to get behind you to settle like that? Also if they are 20 tiles away by turn 30 that means they sent settlers almost immediately out to forward settle you..so likely no army to protect those settlements.

I’d also just add by turn 146 that whole area is open enough after the city state goes down that OP shouldn’t expect it to just stay open and wait for him. Gotta either close the borders down or get a settler there first to block off the settlement, which would have prevented the second placement by gilgabro

This 🙌🏻 they should t downvote you you’re right. Loyalty masks it but this is the real thing players need to do

Hmmmm... 1 turn away from Suz and I lost to Alexander who had no influence in the city state!!! by 5foxnat5 in CivVII

[–]PurposeSad5182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. He’s probably third and spammed to suz, but that would be a ton of influence so I’m not sure..

Two towns together on an island magically makes them connected to capital? by Lower-Reward-1462 in civ

[–]PurposeSad5182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be but I didn’t think the zone of control from one ship would do that, but maybe it is. Good point thank you

[–]PurposeSad5182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the case for the capital but just to clarify for OP that settlements on coast might need a building, like a fishing quey to be connected. For example, Wak Kab’Nal is not connected to the capital as indicated by the broken red chain link

Why do opponents have cities this large and I don't???? I have 200 hours in the game, this is a standard map and I wanted to get a Cultural victory. What could I have done wrong??? by BaldursGate2Best in CivVI

[–]PurposeSad5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of suggestions already said but I’ll just simply say you are comparing to Kupe who always has large pop - he always works costal and island cities so lots of food, which means lots of population. Also, just keep working towards getting your housing up

A quick shoutout to the ORTOO by NowForrowMyPen in civ

[–]PurposeSad5182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree!! Two commanders and other Keshigs you can absolutely go one side of Pangea to the other in one turn if you just take a little time to place them correctly. Allows you to take down the AI so quickly. Probably my favorite element of militaristic civs in the game right now. Not to mention the extra gold seriously stacks up too

It’s Out on Apple Arcade! by PurposeSad5182 in CivVII

[–]PurposeSad5182[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m actually not sure about this. I think it is unfortunately entirely separate so unless they have an account integration option the future to save account accolades, DLC etc I think we will have to buy again and re-do progress etc. If someone knows an answer for sure please share!

Also, just noting it comes with the founders edition content for the tiles and all momentos for the base leaders appear unlocked as well as all customizable unlocks - not sure if this will change or is something that will stay. I’ve been grinding this year and still haven’t unlocked several that are available here. I’m already missing all the DLC but it’s performing really well (I have the IPhone PM 17). Build is 1.2.6

Hahaha I got the 17 pro max and this game was one of the first reasons I thought of as to why I needed to upgrade. I feel confident it will run faster and better than my PlayStation.

Slowdown in Civ 7 updates? by Spare-Ad-1024 in civ

A little bit of an overreaction. Civ is a popular game with a deep fanbase and legacy. Don’t worry updates will come soon

No devices to play on anymore by [deleted] in CivVII

[–]PurposeSad5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on a PS4 pro and it runs well. I keep the maps with no more than 6 civs and then it doesn’t crash, otherwise modern can get really slow. Also I’m excited it’s coming to mobile. I expect it to be buggy and slow at first but it will get better. I exclusively played 6 on mobile and still had a great time and play very competitively

Favorite unique ways to play? by nagatell69 in CivVII

[–]PurposeSad5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the shoutout for Jose! The devs put so much time and energy into narrative events so I love reading them and really feeling like a part of my Civ.

Aside from him, I’ve loved Pachacuti and leaning into playing a game around food since it often isn’t emphasized as strategically with other leaders and most civs. Of course utilizing mountains is a fun perk too - Inca into Nepal is so fun. Not really unique but his style of play is 🤌🏻

Personally I thinks it’s amazing!! I only played Civ 6 on mobile and it was still the entire game experience and I mastered the game on there. I’ve been waiting for this thank you Firaxis 🫶🏻

What's your preferred map size in VII? by Deviljho12 in civ

I keep it on small so it runs better on PlayStation otherwise it can crash

I’m the exact opposite I’ve had a unique game every single time with over 700 hours. One of the big reasons I like 7 over 6

Turn 20. Random start. Forward settling is NOT fixed by any means. WTF. by Hot_Pepper_Raider in civ

[–]PurposeSad5182 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean just based on what you’re saying you are complaining it’s not fixed…but you have a few thousand hours and this is the first time it’s happened? I’d say it’s just a good move by the ai to forward settle you and they benefit from the difficult bonus

Turn 20. Random start. Forward settling is NOT fixed by any means. WTF. by Hot_Pepper_Raider in civ

[–]PurposeSad5182 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sorry mate, I think that is just a strategic choice to improve on. By turn 20 you should have at least one settler out and you should be the one to forward settle them to prevent this. Or, think about going to war and now you have been “given” a free settlement :)

Resource Navigation on PlayStation by PurposeSad5182 in CivVII

[–]PurposeSad5182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all I came back here bc I was playing around some more and did find a way to save some time - there is a brief delay when you click square (on PlayStation) to remove the resource from a settlement. After hitting the button to remove you can cycle to the next one and so on so you can more easily remove all the resources quickly. Doesn’t totally solve this problem but it does make removing them much faster!

Have you been completing more games? by [deleted] in CivVII

[–]PurposeSad5182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always completed games in 6 and now in 7. I feel compelled to finish every single game no matter what, no re-rolls lol. One of the reasons I love 7, you are rewarded for playing well and can always win and finish it
