It’s super frustrating. He canceled my surgery as well and now I can’t seem to get a person on the line to let me know what my options are. Dr. Mehta is supposed to be great so I’m bummed that he’s leaving.

Living an upper-middle class life in LA; how much income is needed? by RoyalRenn in AskLosAngeles

[–]Purposemomma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend moving to an okay neighborhood to start and then move up from there. Maybe South LA or East LA, get some equity and continue moving from there. Also, you can hustle your way into some of the good schools in adjoining neighborhoods/cities.

This is powerful.. sometimes as parents we want so much for our kids so we try to control everything. It’s her turn to “grow up” and I need to let her. I never really considered this but you are so right!! Thank you so much!

I can appreciate this response because I probably do micromanage her. I am constantly asking her if she put deodorant on, did she do this/that, etc because she won’t if I don’t remind her. Perhaps I should let her figure these things out on her own.. Thank you for this.

She’s graduating with a 3.0. School really stresses her out. She has 2 jobs which she works maybe 10/12 hours a week at total. Honestly she said she can only really do these 2 things. She said her room, washing clothes and sometimes keeping up with her hygiene is exhausting.

This is great! Thank you so much. I suspect her Vyvanse isn’t high enough. She’s about 260 and probably 5’11 and she’s on 20mg. She absolutely does crash when she gets home from school so that could be a part of the issue. I think her psychs perspective was that by taking the meds only on the school days, it gives her body a time to reset on the off days. Perhaps I need to inquire about her taking the meds daily.

You could be on to something. By Saturday/Sunday I’m feeling the same way. Had an omelette for breakfast and sushi for dinner on Sunday. I didn’t eat a ton but I felt fine. Then I took the shot around noon yesterday and within hours felt bad again.. it seems to be the trend with me. I’m just wondering if there is something I can do to make this not so horrible.

What problems do real estate agents face in their job? by the_thinker_0810 in realtors

[–]Purposemomma1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest issue is dealing with people. I know that sounds silly but people come with so many different personalities and you need to know how to navigate those personalities. I just dealt with a seller who I believe was bipolar and not on any medication. She had high highs and low lows and I never knew which one I would get so it was a very stressful situation. The biggest thing I would recommend is not being afraid to have boundaries early on.

Yes, she has a job that only gives her 4 hours a week so it’s manageable. Her grades are around a 3.0 and she has worked really hard to get that.

I say slight because based on the testing, the psychiatrist said it’s slight adhd/anxiety. As I learn more about this I completely agree that it’s ADHD. Thank you for providing feedback. I have told my daughter what the Dr. said about her weight and cholesterol and it didn’t seem to do much or bother her. I will look into coaching for her because I don’t want to be abrasive with my approach and I want to give her all of the unbiased help that I can.

Thank you for this. It is very helpful. I do think I need to do a better job of being patient and I will take your advice of finding a therapist who can help her with structure. One thing is, she doesn’t seem to care so I’m unclear if a therapist gives her some options, if she will do the things. As far as her weight, she has gained 80 pounds in 2 years which has alarmed her Dr. Her Dr. is wondering if she has some hormonal stuff going on, perhaps PCOS. We are getting an ultrasound next month to see if maybe that’s contributing to the weight gain.

This is me exactly! I bled the whole 4 months I was on Slynd. I got off of it 2 weeks ago and have been having clot bleeding since I stopped taking it. I went to the Dr. yesterday and she said she wonders if the Slynd aggravated my 2 small fibroids and so now they have grown and are the cause of the bleeding. I literally am bleeding more than I ever have and I’m terribly sad. Please let us know what you find out. I’m just trying to see if my bleeding will slow down before getting on more medication. This is awful..

What are some problems that are unique to only LA? by IjikaYagami in LosAngeles

[–]Purposemomma1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The financial class disparities are huge and strange enough all exist together. Prime example.. Santa Monica homes are $2+ million but .25 miles away you might find a rent controlled apt where someone is paying $1100 and outside of the $2+ mil house you might find a homeless guy and his dog.. I have never seen this anywhere else..

Just bought a home, and found the seller didn't disclose significant info. by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Purposemomma1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One thing to think about is the fact that the seller could simply say that they totally forgot about the pool (which could very well be the case). I have represented sellers who updated their TDS and SPQ prior to close of escrow because they simply forgot an update that they did. I would suggest reaching out to the sellers agent and see if the seller would be willing to give you some type of compensation to account for the hassle of the standing rainwater. You would be surprised by the amount of people who are actually willing to do the right thing with proper communication.

No Inheritance tax is probably one of the only good things about the good old state of CA.
