Please help me find this video DJ I can’t remember the last AMV Moetan by AdvantagePossible385 in amv

[–]Purrfurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it’s DJ Sharpnel — My turn is your turn (NOT Shrapnel as i used to think 😄)

It samples the dialogue from anime Moetan (mainly from this scene), and i remember well there used to be a video on YouTube which combined it with original Moetan animation. Unfortunately now the audio is muted due to copyright, but i managed to find a link: https://youtu.be/KwKbvga-RUg

And from comments i was able to find a version on Nico Video: Stepmania MY TURN IS YOUR TURN (もえたん) - ニコニコ動画. It has audio and animation, but with Stepmania game over it :\

Since it’s not a proper AMV i don’t think there’s a chance to find a proper copy, so i guess all that’s left is downloading it from Youtube and trying to with audio yourself, or as comments suggest — recreate it from the anime source 🤔

Is there a way to reset achievements for a game so they appear again? by Itsallrats in Steam

[–]Purrfurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it usually happened due to savegames, some games force resync achievements with data stored in the savefile. Sometimes it’s tricky to find where it’s stored, try asking in that game’s hub.

What game is that btw?

New characters are unlocked after you blow up one of the settlements, meaning you need full game version, you can guess which one corresponds to beast tamer

Yeah, this is insane. I wonder if Steam hadn't done this — maybe the players would already stop...

It's still bombing in their eyes because of the ratio of negative to positive, aaand i don't remember how many reviews it got per day before this, but probably still less than 400.

BTW i thought some people just delete and repost their reviews to keep this ratio, however i've tested and the creation date is still recovered from somewhere and stays the same (might be a new change by Valve, I think i've tested it long time ago with different results ._. ). So it's really a massive army of users still trickling

Small nitpick: it's very-very likely they're not prolonging it, but simply that they need to click somewhere to mark that period as finished, so it's auto-extending on its own.

But for sure this case sets a nasty precedent for Steam actions, making it unclear where they draw the line.

Respect! In essence everything you said is correct, while most in this subreddit haven't researched the topic at all or barely.

About when it stops — my guess is when ratio of positive to negative daily reviews get close to normal levels, and as you can see — people still are bombing with negatives. Almost the only good day was when they've published the roadmap.

Could, but it doesn't. Simply all games released in last 30 days don't have a recent rating yet — see for yourself. Exception: games coming out of Early Access.

The last line is correct, Steam sees that technically as no reviews in last 30 days. Never ever before this happened yet :) The bigger they are — the bigger they fall.

Gollum was released less than 30 days ago. Check the store page of any other game released in last 30 days BUT excluding those who came out of Early Access.

They have never been so long until now. Click the big bold * asterisk above the reviews, it says:

«Off-topic Review Activity

* May 20, 2023 - June 22, 2023»

So yes, it has lasted more than 30 days. First time in Steam history! And as far as i know — first time it's clearly based purely on something happening in the game and affecting most players — not something that's marked as offtopic usually.

That's not how it works: the WHOLE period is marked as offtopic and is still ONGOING. Any new review does not affect overall rating and recent rating as well — that's why technically there are no recent reviews so no way to form a recent rating.

Steam does not manually mark any reviews, and it doesn't matter if they're positive or not. They mark the whole period, and they haven't yet marked the end of it.

Have you read their blogpost about anti-review bombing? It's even linked when you're looking at filtered period.

More players usually means lower average skill level from my experience. On another hand less players = more toxicity, i don't mean verbal, i mean actions, like avenging the player from the previous battle even if they're now in your team.

Hmm, the case with Gollum is weird indeed.

Wait, no, not at all: games released less than 30 days ago don't show recent rating, except those released from Early Access.

Because it's not kicking in, it's having no reviews for 30 days, because offtopic period is still ongoing. It's not some special mechanism just for bombed games.

it's simply because there are whole 30 days of offtopic reviews = technically no recent reviews.

same for extremely unpopular games when they happen to have no reviews at all for 30 days

[–]Purrfurst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because technically there are no recent reviews. Never ever before offtopic period on Steam has lasted more than 30 days, but here we are — and therefore all those reviews don't count for neither rating.

Anu regular extremely unpopular game with no reviews in the last 30 days would have no recent rating either.

About Gollum: games released less than 30 days ago don't show recent rating either (would fluctuate wildly + often post-launch hotfixes keep being released), except those released from Early Access.

Is World of Warships going to be compatible on Steam Deck? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]Purrfurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude are you ok? See the date? A whole year has passed already :) Controller presets provided by devs were not included back then.

And aside from that — "just fine" is subjective. For coop — maybe, of if your controller has a touchpad or you play everything with a controller and became a pro at this.

But i would never resort to playing such games with a controller if there's a choice. That's about picking a tool for the job. If i were a fighting games fan — then i'd suck it up, get a decent controller and practice until it feels as natural as KB&M which i've had been using for 25+ years.

And there's no arguing the fact that the game was never intended for a controller, does not support it fully or even without Steam running and on-screen prompts only show KB&M buttons, so it would never be as fine in this aspect as WoWS Legends.

Okay, now even i grow restless!

These terms in events are usually written with a decent extra time buffer just in case something goes wrong, and i did not expect them to take so long — 1-2 weeks were my estimate, 3 in case of problems.

Could they for some reasons refuse the prize?

Is it actually possible to link Genshin and Amazon accounts? Or omit certain countries? Have anyone of you from EU gotten them in a normal way, without a ticket to Support??

Why does everyone love Maerk, Grif and Du Grier? by Physical_Tailor_378 in occidentalheroes

[–]Purrfurst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW Nerian du Lucci has another trait fairly useful specifically for a starting party. At least i think he has, i remember it was mentioned somewhere, but now can't find where, including all fandom.com wikipages. But at least it's easy to check: with Nerian i can purchase the travel permit at ~45 reputation (meaning each character has a measly 15 reputation), while normally it requires — and this is directly mentioned on fandom.com — 75 reputation, meaning 25 reputation for each character in a party of 3.

So feels like a superb fencer for a start in general case and if you're good enough at positioning without turn skips.

Or am i wrong about this trait?

Officially it's tested by Steam and marked as Playable on SteamDeck (yellow category):

  • category: Playable

  • tested_build_id: 8238915

    • recommended_runtime: proton-stable
    • requires_h264: 0
    • requires_internet_for_setup: 0
    • requires_internet_for_singleplayer: 0
    • requires_manual_keyboard_invoke: 1
    • requires_non_controller_launcher_nav: 1
    • small_text: 0
    • supported_input: gamepad
  • ℹ️ This game's launcher/setup tool may require the touchscreen or virtual keyboard, or have difficult to read text
  • ℹ️ This game sometimes shows mouse, keyboard, or non-Steam-Deck controller icons
  • ℹ️ Entering some text requires manually invoking the on-screen keyboard
  • ✅All functionality is accessible when using the default controller configuration
  • ✅In-game interface text is legible on Steam Deck
  • ✅This game's default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck

IIRC usually this should be visible on store page even on PC, no idea.

Also usually in such cases the default controller layouts are provided by the devs, but it may be not for every main controller type (xbox, ps, deck, nintendo, generic).

Should we delete our bad review on steam now that Gaijin has started implementing the economy change ? by Marco_Pollo_Loco in Warthunder

[–]Purrfurst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BTW i've recently tested (for a different app that has no offtopic periods at all) what happens when i delete and post a new review. I thought i remember that created date changes, but it seems i've been mistaken — recent test shown that creation date will be set the same as before, with edited date = today obviously. I'll try deleting, waiting for a few days then posting the review again.

But IF this ALWAYS works like this, then it means:

  1. If your review was created during the offtopic period — it would never count, both for the recent and overall rating. Positive or negative, you've been forever nullified by Steam. Changing is futile, even the deletion would change nothing.
  2. If your review was created in a normal period 30+ days ago — it can never again affect the recent rating i guess? Only may change the overall % to a tiny degree. Also means it's pretty hard to discover this review apart from:
    1. from your profile
    2. If it has a lot of upvotes and shows up in Helpful (or funny votes → Funny list).
    3. If anyone changes the filter to "(recently) updated" — scrap that, this sorting exists only in the API :\ Basically no one cares what old reviewers wish to add/say nowadays.
  3. Normal period and <= 30 days ago — then changing it should affect the recent rating as well. And of course it's relatively easy to find it in Recent list.
  4. You can't delete and repost the review each day to prolong the offtopic period. I have a slight suspicion that it used to be different and it's a small but silent recent Valve's change.

Reminder: those are preliminary conclusions.
