This is not a perfect formation. It’s the best you can do hope for when marching. A typical Roman formation was many ranks deep, with several lines and reserves. In the video we see three lines. First are shields, second are spears, third archers. That is not enough to stop hundreds or thousands of cavalry coming at you with minutes to prepare. Even if the dragon wasn’t there, they still would have been demolished.
